Thank you for visiting my profile. While in my care, you will find a nonjudgmental space to explore possibilities and solutions. Even though venting frustrations can sometimes feel relieving, that relief can be temporary if not fleeting. It is my goal and privilege to help people gain awareness, insight, and process emotions to maximize personal growth.
Let's reduce emotional suffering effectively and efficiently. I am licensed as a professional counselor in the states of TN and KY. Each year I attend numerous professional trainings and conferences so I can provide proper care for the individuals I see.
I started working in the mental health field over 16 years ago with individuals, families, and couples. Within the last 5 years, I have provided therapy for military service members and their families.
I completed professional trainings in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and attended numerous workshops on couple’s communication, alternative lifestyles and military culture. My experience in the field of psychology includes 11 years serving clients with severe and persistent mental illness. I worked in the community mental health setting as a psychiatric Case Manager, Program Assistant to an intensive outpatient team, Therapist and as an Assessment Clinician. During my graduate program, I interned at Davidson County’s Correctional Development Center, providing therapy for female inmates.
I look forward to hearing from you!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.
Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

I have a hard time articulating how beneficial this service has been during 2020 and 6 months into 2021. Maggie is a perfect therapist fit for me & I think that match was facilitated by the initial intake questionnaire. I'm going through some hard stuff right now (like everybody else it seems... 2020-2021 is HARD). I'm happy to have BetterHelp & access to this amazing therapist. 10/10 would recommend Maggie Lemley if you like a firm, straightforward, validating experience.
Provides me a great deal of support regularly and in times of need. Gives me a great perspective when I need a different one. Helps me understand myself.
extremely friendly & understanding. i felt like maggie was one of my friends from back home just within the way she responded to my statements / struggles i’ve made in our sessions. i would totally recommend maggie to anyone who ever is in a tough situation and need a bit of counseling.
Maggie is a wonderful counselor. She is empathetic and understanding! She has given me many tools to carry with me while I work on myself.
I am grateful for Miss Maggie in that she is wonderful at helping me get myself through really trying times. I've never had support in my life like what she gives me.
Maggie has helped me through a really difficult time of self discovery. I think the process of being matched with the right therapist is really effective. I'm so grateful for this service and the perspective Maggie provides.
Maggie Lemley is amazing! Though I haven’t been talking to her for a long time, she has already given me the tools to live better and to understand the way I think. She is brilliant and insightful, and obviously draws from her impressive education and experience, yet is able to communicate in a very calming, encouraging way. Great balance between interpersonal skills and knowledge!
Maggie is wonderful! I've been working with her for a couple weeks now and I'm already feeling a lot better. She's super friendly and keeps up with my tangents and rambling! I'm very thankful I got matched with her.
Maggie is very kind and really makes you feel like she is there for you and wants what’s best for you and your family. I’m very glad to have met her!
While I am only a few weeks into therapy I feel very confident and comfortable following Maggie’s recommendations. She is a great listener with lots of advise and seems very passionate about helping me get to where I want to be as a person.
Maggie has not only the innate ability to understand her patients, but the skills and knowledge to help them understand themselves. The tools she uses in her practice helped us understand one another on a level we didn't know was possible and still implement what she taught us in our day to day lives. She is an amazing therapist both for individuals and couples, I would, and have recommended her to every friend/couple I know. We looked forward to all of our sessions so much that if we had not switched jobs we would have continued going to her indefinitely, but either way she saved our relationship and we are eternally greatful!
Maggie is so sweet, understanding, and patient with me. I have a tendency to zone out for days or weeks at a time, so I can imagine how frustrating it is to try to check in on me! But she always does. And always with a kind word. I couldn't recommend her more!
Maggie Lemley is incredible. She is compassionate, understanding, intelligent, and sensible. Her writing skills are top-notch, too. I don't have any trouble in understanding what she sets out to convey. I love her energy. She has helped me so much---restored my faith in humanity and given me useful tools to help me better myself. I'll be forever grateful.
Maggie is the best!
She's amazing, professional and highly skilled.
Maggie has been extremely helpful and supportive in helping me address my issues from the past.
Maggie continues to be an amazing counsellor who supports me effectively. She keeps me on track with my therapeutic goals but also allows room for adjustments when events arise. The progress I’ve seen in myself since working with Maggie is really impressive, I feel more calm and less anxious. I truly feel like I’m healing my past traumas and growing as a person.
I absolutely loved my sessions with Maggie. She is kind, sweet and funny - it really made me feel at ease and able to disclose what I needed to with her. I never felt judged or like I was being evaluated; she was just there to listen. Sometimes, even her kind and sympathetic gaze was enough to cause me to be emotional - I think that's amazing! You really could feel her empathy even though we lived in completely different countries and time zones. Along with her kindness and easy-going nature, she also provided amazing tools and exercises that I still utilize even though my sessions are over. I've had counseling with other mental health practitioners before, but this was the first time I actually looked forward to doing it. Don't get me wrong, therapy can be emotionally exhausting but I always felt a bit lighter and more confident in myself when we finished. She was also very prompt when returning messages, which I vastly appreciated. Basically, I considered Maggie like a good friend who made you feel comfortable and let you vent your problems. Thank you so much for everything Maggie! You're the best :)
Maggie is a wonderful person and counselor. She listens to me and responds in a compassionate, professional way. I feel like Maggie understands me and actually knows me better than anyone else does. We have made excellent progress and my life is truly enriched and blessed for having her in it. She is a very impressive person and I'm most grateful. Hats off to BetterHelp also for pairing us up in the first place. She's the first counselor BetterHelp started me out with and I'm still with her. Thank you very much.
Maggie has been an absolute gem. Her expertise has motivated me and made me feel truly accepted as a person.
I have a great connection with Maggie. She is aware of my needs and goals and helps me to meet those goals. Maggie is gifted at drawing out the underlying issues and emotions that can sometimes be overlooked on my part. She works best in video sessions. She will respond to messaging but is not one to initiate it.
I’ve been working with Maggie for a couple of months now. The entire time has been very helpful. We’ve been dealing with a lot of issues related to past trauma, anxiety, and current relationships. Maggie is available in a variety of mediums and in a timely matter. I’m always able to find a live session time that works for me easily and Maggie gives her undivided attention during those times. I feel genuinely cared for by Maggie, in a professional way. Her knowledge in the field is extensive and she seems to always know what to say to make me feel a bit more “normal”. I never feel overloaded with forms to fill out or homework to do, and the ones I am given are actually useful, both in the moment and in future sessions. I’m very pleased with the progress we’re making together and look forward to making more.
