Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space. Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

I have worked with Janet for years now and I can definitively say that my life has improved in so many ways thanks to her guidance. I never experienced the true effects of CBT before I met Janet. She is a true professional but is as sincere and as caring as you would want in a therapist and more so.

I have spent the last 8 months speaking with Janet Newsome and can not be more impressed with her ability and desire to help. I would highly recommend Betterhelp and Janet.

It took me a very long time to get help and a lot of that was attributed to all the horror stories I’ve heard from friends seeing therapists that weren’t the right fit for them. I expected to spend years finding a therapist that would offer me what I needed and wanted out of that relationship. Luckily, it didn’t take long for me to find Janet and I have felt so incredibly fortunate ever since! She is amazing at creating a safe and comforting environment for anyone who comes in contact with her which, in my opinion, is one of the most important parts of being a therapist. She makes you feel heard, validated, comfy, and right at home on Day 1. I don’t know where I’d be without her, but I do know that I’m so grateful to have found her!

Janet has been working with me for the better portion of this year. I've had several therapists over a span of 10 years, and Janet is by far the best. Nobody else even really comes close. I feel like I'm gaining so much insight and learning more about myself than ever before, and I feel like for the first time I leave sessions with actionable next-steps and "homework" that I can work on and begin to apply in every day life, which I greatly appreciate. In the past, therapy often felt like I was venting to someone in a coffee shop and discussing it, but you can tell Janet genuinely cares so much and with her help I actually feel like I'm growing as a person. I'm so grateful.

I’ve recommended this app and specifically Janet to numerous friends already!

H.E.·Sep 2020

I was ready to give up on better help, but I gave it another shot with Janet and I am so glad to have done so. She’s incredibly attentive and listens in an inviting and non judgmental way, always allowing me to be my full self. She also has a good sense of humor and is very reaffirming. Everyone should have a Janet in their life!

K.E.·Aug 2020

Janet has been amazing in helping me and supporting me and very timely.

D.E.·Jul 2020

I’ve already recommended BetterHelp to several of my friends based on my positive experience.

I think that just because money becomes involved, therapy can often feel like it isn't personal or that human connection isn't part of the process. That couldn't be further from the truth. Janet is intuitive and experienced but also very obviously someone who cares and sees me as a person, not just a client. This attribute has been crucial to my experience in therapy with Janet because it reinforces trust not only in her guidance but in her intentions. I highly, HIGHLY recommend Janet.

You are doing a great job. Don’t know where I would be without you.

Janet is an amazing. I have been able to tackle very difficult topics with her and never fear her responses. I can talk to her about anything and everything. I cant image not having her in my life.

L.Y.·May 2019

She’s very kind and non-judgmental. I was skeptical at first about using an online councilor, but she has definitely changed my perspective. Definitely one of the best councilors I’ve ever had.
