Amanda Taylor is a phenomenal counselor. I went through several on BetterHelp before finally being matched with her and I am so grateful. She is very respectful and will respond super quickly. She’s understanding and responsive when I tell her I’m uncomfortable about a topic or something like that. She’s also good at keeping everything on track, even with in-person counselors I feel like they can usually be off topic and not really helpful. Amanda Taylor is great and I highly recommend her!

Hello! My name is Amanda Taylor and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Pennsylvania, a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), and I have my Master's of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have been working in the mental health field since 2013. I have worked with clients ranging from age 4 up to elderly clients with multiple different mental health struggles including depression, anxiety, personality disorders, trauma, PTSD, ADHD, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, parenting issues, relationship problems, social behavior, and crisis counseling.

I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques, and typically focus on a strengths-based model. My overall goal is to help people identify where they are right now and achieve where they want to be in the future, with the support of individualized therapy sessions. I utilize CBT to help my clients focus on connecting thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I want to help people understand how thoughts, behaviors, and emotions are linked and influence one another to restructure thinking to develop healthier thoughts, beliefs, and, behaviors. I pull from the strengths-based approach in which I focus on a client’s strengths, resiliency, and resourcefulness to identify steps that can be taken by clients with their best foot forward.

I strongly believe everyone needs help with their mental health wellness at some point in their lives, but it takes courage to take the leap to get the help that is needed. I look forward to working with you to identify where you are and achieve where you want to be.
