I am a psychotherapist who specializes in addiction, shame, trauma, and helping others learn the art of self-compassion. I utilize Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) to facilitate a large majority of my individual and group sessions. This action-oriented framework is congruent with my belief system and core values. Instead of expending energy resisting or denying their emotions toward a difficult concept, it encourages one to accept these emotions as an appropriate response to certain situations and to move forward regardless. This eases the conflict between how a person believes they are “supposed to” feel and how they realistically feel under circumstances to which they are exposed.
I am a trained practitioner in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. (EMDR) This adaptive integrative processing approach uses bilateral stimulation and lateral eye movement to strengthen positive neural networks within one’s brain. It helps rescript and establish positive connections about a previously-held negative belief. It reinforces the positive pathway and helps the individual cope with the memory while applying new, positive beliefs about a negative situation.
Using a holistic approach is essential in my practice. A person is not their diagnosis. A person is not their addiction. A person is a complex individual who deserves the care and respect that I would hope be shown toward myself or someone that is close to me. Working through shame is a process and a journey that is best traversed with compassion.
Contact me to schedule. I have limited availability at this time. Thank you.

Online counseling allows you to receive care from a mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.

Jennifer is a wonderful therapist. I feel very seen and heard in sessions. She makes me comfortable to discuss the inner workings of my brain. I appreciate her encouragement and positive reinforcement.
She is so easy to talk to. I can say anything without judging and she makes me feel confident I can meet my personal needs to succeed!
It has been great so far ! I’m getting a lot out of it
Jennifer is a fantastic therapist! In the few months I’ve been seeing her, I’ve decreased my depressive symptoms, managed my anxiety, addressed my eating disorder, and gained newfound confidence. She’s a wise, empathetic counselor and because of her, my quality of life has improved dramatically. Thank you so much, Dr. Jen, I couldn’t have done it without you.
Jennifer is empathic and insightful. I appreciate her support and honest feedback. It's been helpful for me, and the forum is great!
Jennifer has really helped me find ways to intervene in my own anxiety before it reaches crisis levels. Even in difficult times, I feel better able to get through day-to-day life thanks to her. She's kind, supportive and understanding while still pushing me to help myself move in the right direction.
Jennifer is awesome. Life works out in funny ways sometimes, but truly believe I was meant to be matched with her. She’s down-to-earth, cool, and extremely great about “counseling” in a way that just feels like normal conversation. She’s always available via messaging if I need things between sessions too. Would recommend her to anyone I know!
She's an awesome and wonderful counselor.
She’s my first therapist and I couldn’t be happier. She is prompt. She is relatable and I feel completely comfortable taking with her.
Jennifer is amazing! I feel a real connection to her and I love her openness and honesty.
This is only my second week of working with Jennifer and I feel like I've gotten further than I have with years of traditional therapy. Of all the therapists I've had in the past, this is the first time I really feel understood and heard and I feel that will be monumental to my recovery. She is open minded, empathetic, genuine, and compassionate which makes it really easy to open up. I'm very grateful I gave this a chance because I finally have some confidence that healing may be possible.
She is so understanding of cultural and religious differences while keeping me in mind as a holistic individual!
It's not easy for me to open up and talk about feelings but she makes me comfortable to do this. And, I feel so much better afterwards.
Jennifer has been great. She’s very supportive and has helped me find new ways to adapt and grow in a short period of time. I highly recommend her!
She understands what I'm going through and is responsive to me.
