More about Jaret

Welcome! I like to think counseling is a wonderful journey to help explore yourself and develop helpful coping skills when facing difficulty in life. I am a licensed professional counselor with over 7 years of experience in the field. I have a Master of Arts degree in counseling from Waynesburg University in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the commonwealth of Pennsylvania, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in the State of New Hampshire, and I am also a DBT Linehan-Board of Certification, Certified Clinician and an EMDR-Trained Therapist. I have worked with many different individuals, including those who struggle with depression, anxiety, addictions, and trauma. I think of counseling as a process of working together to develop an insightful mind set into who you are and how to make meaning from your experiences.

My counseling style involves a high level of active listening upon my part and an overall collaborative effort to help you meet your specific goals and needs. I tend to practice from a person-centered, humanistic perspective. I also have specific training in dialectical behavior therapy, which is an incredibly helpful combination of developing skills in handling highly stressful situations in a healthy way, as well as improve upon communication skills and regulating emotions. I also work with individuals using EMDR therapy as a modality to help resolve unprocessed traumatic experiences. I believe everyone's story and experiences create strengths that can be helpful in feeling better.

It takes a lot of strength and courage to start the process of counseling. Something you might want to know about me is that I've been in the client's seat in the counseling relationship and understand just how much strength and courage it takes to talk with a counselor. If you're ready to start the journey, I'm here to support you.

I look forward to working with you!

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions. Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Nov 2023

I am extremely grateful to have found Jaret through Better Help. I have been looking for a therapist who is able and willing to help me deal with life traumas that have not been properly addressed. I am very confident in Jaret's expertise; he is giving me the safe space to finally explore these life experiences and trust him to be supportive and compassionate. Oct 2023

Amazing therapist who continues to learn more about EMDR and other ways to help treat CPTSD along with other disorders that people are managing. He values the therapeutic alliance and does not impose his beliefs upon people. Jaret has been the most helpful counselor I have seen in my 30+ years of counseling. I am also in the field and appreciate the way he has helped me with being able to improve how I work with others.

Oct 2023

Jaret is a compassionate and skilled therapist. I didn’t originally think I’d be comfortable with a man, but knew I needed DBT and EMDR, which he specializes in. From the very first meeting, I have felt super comfortable with him and would highly recommend him to anyone trying to work through traumas and/or resolve self destructive behaviors.

Aug 2023

Smartest, most intuitive therapist I’ve ever had

Jul 2023

Only had one session so far, but the chemistry between us is most definitely there. I feel as though I can be very authentic with him and trust him with the inner demons I struggle with on a daily basis.

Jun 2023

Jarret is highly professional, well-trained, certified, kind and uses best practices to hold space for his clients. He takes the time to ensure a basis of trust and has helped me process trauma that was not possible through other therapists and modalities. He is knowledgeable and I am currently undergoing EMDR along with DBT and have found this to be a very strong therapeutic alliance. Easy to talk to and responsive to messaging.

May 2023

Jaret is the best! Highly recommend, he is an amazing therapist and person!

May 2023

I have been blessed these past four years to have Jaret as my therapist. Since my first session with him, I felt very comfortable and knew that I was in very capable hands. Jaret is extremely knowledgeable of DBT, and all aspects of depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation and relationship issues, among many more, I am sure. Yet, with all of that knowledge, his demeanor is welcoming compassionate but still professional, but in a relaxing way. He's one of those types of people that you feel you've known forever when you've just met them. To say that he has helped me tremendously these past four years is an understatement. I am currently in a maintenance program with him, but if you are looking for someone you you ultimately want to trust and help take you out of the darkness of depression and anxiety, he is your man! I can't say enough about him. He is truly a gem and a Godsend for me.
