I have been a licensed clinical therapist in Wisconsin for the past 9 years, and worked in mental health for 20 years. I enjoy collaborating with people to help them actively work to improve their emotional and physical health. I specialize in working with individuals with anxiety disorders including OCD, social anxiety, PTSD, phobias, and generalized anxiety disorder. I enjoy working with people with anxiety disorders because anxiety is treatable if you learn the skills and follow the right treatment plan. My goal is to teach clients the skills needed to manage their own anxiety disorders so that life is more enjoyable and fulfilling. I also enjoy and am skilled at working with individuals struggling with depression, grief, disordered eating, Type 1 Diabetes, and relationship issues.

One of the great aspects of the BetterHelp network and online therapy is the ability to be able to connect with clients more frequently as they work through different issues. I respect each individual's time and recognize that clients value a timely response by their therapist. I make it a priority to check messages twice a day and respond within 24 hours. Janice came into my life during a season of enormous personal exploration and growth. Being able to have sessions and also messaging with her allowed me a space to take care of myself so that I could be more healthy and present in the current day and also my relationships. I’ve always relied heavily on family and friends to process my internal world, and having another person to do that work with has made me a better participant in my relationships. I truly feel transformed after my work with her. I think for me it’s having an additional voice of support, but more importantly, the encouragement to take my healing into my own hands and discover what strategies I can incorporate into my daily life to remain healthy. I feel more confident and clear on my values and where I’m headed than I ever have. Eternally grateful for the space Janice has shared with me when things feel very heavy and cloudy. Resiliency and strength and hope are now a part of who I am and I no longer fear hardship and pain. Cannot recommend enough.

Janice is exceptionally receptive, supportive, and intelligent, in my opinion. She has always kept up with me, supported me - she feels like a coach, in that regard. Never has pressured me but has always given me precise, timely goals that have the opportunity to be adjusted based on my mental health at that time. Very very happy with her, which I was worried about initially because I have had so many counselors my entire life and it’s always nerve racking to see how the new therapist operates and jives with me. Big fan!!

Janice is a wonderful counselor. When I used to do in person therapy all I ever really got out of it was how to do deep breathing exercises. Janice actually has succeeded in helping me lower my every day anxiety, although I still have a long way to go. The first time she recommended a live session I was super anxious and told her I wasn't ready. She didn't push me to do it anyway and let me get there on my own. If I don't message her for awhile she will send me a message to check in. I would definitely recommend Janice to anyone struggling with anxiety.

I was destroyed when I found out my husband cheated and made a baby with the OTW. My therapist has made me change perspective on many things. Has helped me grow as a person. Even with the short time I have been in therapy i feel like I can/ am living again. Instead of going through each day waiting for the time I won't have to live with the pain anymore. I can breathe again. Most importantly I can live without breaking down to an emotional mess.
