Gwen is very professional and very thorough. She seeks to understand and rephrases what I’m communicating so she can make sure she has a handle on how I’m feeling. She is great at working through issues with worksheets and goals. She understands trauma and relationships and boundaries which is very helpful to my therapy.

Welcome and Hello! Thank you for taking your time to get to know me but I want to stress that the most important person in our relationship is YOU! My name is Gwen Bodnaruk. I am a Nationally Certified Counselor, a Licensed Professional Counselor, a School Certified Counselor, and a Life Coach. I used to be a financial executive on Wall Street but found my work unfulfilling and learned through the help of counseling and coaching that my true passion and calling was helping people. I started a life coaching business and obtained my masters in professional counseling.

Everyone seeking counseling is unique in their upbringing, beliefs and experiences. I use a variety of counseling techniques that are tailored to each one of my clients. My clients benefit from an eclectic approach of combining solution focused therapy, cognitive behavior therapy as well as psycho-educational therapy to help them gain insight into themselves and to assist them in healing fresh and childhood wounds. My goal is to help people remove barriers that have been erected to help them reach the potential of their best selves. Central to the reason I became a therapist is that I credit several therapists throughout my journey in helping me.

Living abroad and learning and communicating in other languages has been instrumental in shaping my worldview and values. My largest treasure in life is my circle of friends comprised of people from all different races, religions and walks of life. For fun I enjoy experiences. I love exploring new places and new people. I got married later in life and am the mother to a dog and a cat and do volunteer work for our local shelter. I am also an active participant in our church. I look forward to working with you.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Gwen is absolutely amazing. She is super understanding and really helps with the cognitive behavior therapy. The conversation is always about me and what I would like to work on, she is very serious about making sure we hit all points! I really appreciate that and I appreciate her in general. I love the worksheets that she provides also, I actually find them to be FUN! I look forward to communicating with her over messenger daily, and over video once a week. I really recommend her services, she is a very intelligent counselor with a lot of useful knowledge to go around!

I am still very new working with Gwen, but so far she has been incredibly supportive and helpful. She makes the conversation helpful, even when I don't know what I need or want to work through.
