Dani is the best therapist I've had in years. She listens, understands, and provides great feedback and resources. She has helped me unpack and come to terms with a lot of things. She also helps paint the bigger picture and break down the seriousness of my problems. I am grateful to have her expertise in improving my mental well-being.

Hello! Thank you for taking a few minutes to learn more about me! My name is Dani and I’ve been working in the substance use and behavioral health fields for thirteen years. I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Minnesota Duluth and a master’s degree in mental health counseling from Capella University. I am an independently licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Minnesota as well as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I have worked primarily in the non-profit sector but, have worked directly with corrections, court, and probation clients during that time as well. Although I have worked with adolescents, my primary focus has been adult clientele. I have additional training in grief counseling and working with individuals that have experienced trauma.

The majority of my experience has been with those that have concerns with both substance abuse and mental health. This allows me to help with not only mental health concerns but, substance abuse issues and how the two intertwine. I have worked in a small community and due to this, have learned the importance of protecting confidentiality and the benefits of engaging in online counseling to ensure you have an objective opinion.

Throughout my career I have subscribed to the idea of cognitive behavioral therapy as I like the very involved, practical approach to looking at out problems and concerns and changing the patterns of thinking that keep us from moving past these things to where we want to be. Once we learn our goals, cognitive behavioral therapy approaches help us to reach them in practical terms.

I do believe that you should be able to direct what you want out of therapy and what you want to accomplish so, we will work together in order to make the changes you are looking to implement and set reachable goals to get there.

I am looking forward to working with you!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space. Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Dani is very real with you. It feels very personal and like you’re talking to someone you’ve known forever with the added bonus of her being a trained professional. She doesn’t sugarcoat things and is good at working out your problems with you and really helping you to figure it out instead of just telling you what to do.

She doesn’t let you bullpoop yourself. She will help you to realize a lot of things you should’ve seen sooner... I love the way that she makes it ok to make myself a priority over anything else. Because if I’m not ok, how can I expect others to be ok? How can I take care of other people if I’m not ok myself?... She’s very good!

Danielle has been great!! She points out things that I don’t even see. I do not feel judged at all by her and she puts things into perspective. If I don’t contact her after a period of time, she always sends out a “hey, you doing ok?” message. I also love the fact that I can just message her whenever I want. It’s been a great move on my end using Better Help.

I've recently begun working with Danielle. Though we're still getting to know each other, in the few sessions we've had I've found her to be incredibly thoughtful, empathetic and solutions focused while also being mindful of what I've shared about how I prefer to address issues and what works for me and what doesn't. I have very strong hopes that the tools she's showing me and working through with me will help me tremendously!
