More about Candace

During 17 years as a therapist, I have enjoyed helping families and individuals improve emotions, thinking patterns and relationships to live more fulfilled lives. My training (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Multisystemic Therapy, etc) has provided me the opportunity to work with a host of problems, including parenting, conflict resolution, relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, chronic pain, and work related issues. I enjoy working from a systemic approach to explore all aspects of a person's life, and this greatly increases the likelihood of success for the individuals and families I counsel. My therapy approach is supportive, yet directive. I see you as the expert and I am here to assist you with the tools you need along the way. This means, I will provide you with a caring environment to be open and expressive, I will ask you questions to help understand more about you, and I will use a variety of techniques to help you decide the best course of action that you would like to take for the circumstances impacting your journey.
Let me tell you a little about myself! My husband I have been married for 23 years and I consider him my best friend and supporter! We have two great kids, ages 12 and 17, who keep us rather busy with all of their activities and the animals they have encouraged use to love (Cash - our Wire-Haired Pointing Griffon & Willow - our Guinea Pig). My greatest enjoyment in life is loving others, whether it is through spending time with my family or helping the people I work with.

Candace is a great support and resource as I navigate tough seasons in life. She’s responsive, insightful, and incredibly well-versed in strategies to feel the best I can!
Candace listens to me offers suggestions that are in tune with my personal life and helps me understand what I’m doing is right or wrong.
Candace is supportive and easy to talk to. She is patient and offers good solutions, feedback, and perspective worth listening to. With care, listening is always key, and with Candace it starts with her listening and she does well at it.
I have really enjoyed talking back and forth with Candace. She is always encouraging and gives good advice and offers suggestions whether it’s songs, scripture, or other reading materials. She is great about checking in and making sure things are okay.
I love how Cancace allows me to talk out my problems, she is an amazing listener and makes me confident that I can work through my problems.
Therapy with Candance doesn't make me feel stressed or nervous at all. She's so personable and relatable it's like talking to a best friend who listens to every word I say and is knowledgeable in all aspects of life. I know she listens because she will reflect on past conversations we've had and will put things in realistic expectations for me. I've never connected with a therapist like I have with Candace. I've only had a handful of sessions with her but she has already helped me be more mindful in my daily life and worry less about things I can't control. It currently feels like I'm going through the worst part of my life. Candace truly makes me feel supported and she validates all of my feelings, positive and negative. I can truly say, it has been extremely helpful in navigating my current situation but also looking into my future. Thank you Candace!
Candace is great!

Very nice lady who makes me feel heard
I’ve worked with Candace for close to 3 years on and off and she has helped ma through some pretty challenging times. She’s incredibly great at creating a safe environment to explore your thoughts and feelings and has helped me really rethink and reframe my own thoughts and strong feelings on things. Thank you Candace, it was great working with you. I am very grateful for your work and help.
I can honestly say she is the first therapist who left me feeling like I was heard and understood and made me feel positive leaving a session.
Candice has been such a blessing to me. I struggle with depression, anxiety and an unstable marriage. Her counseling technics have taught me to turn away from negative thinking, new approaches to communicate with my husband and I have learned, and feel, that there is good reason for my exsistance. Candice is very easy to talk to and makes me feel comfortable, I look forward to our sessions.
Candace is great. She listens and doesn’t just ask how it makes me feel. She provides third party responses with a clear intention with excellent communication style. Very empathetic.
I've been talking with Candace for over 6 month now. I've learned tools to navigate my anxiety and continue to grow into a strong confident woman with her guidance.
I was very impressed with her knowledge, and technique to take us through first session. Looking forward to future ones.
Communication and follow up are great! I feel heard and validated. I feel connected!
I want to tell Candace how wonderful it was working through my situation with her. She listened so carefully, explained articulately, and kept me centered on listening to God. I have struggled most of my life with the relationship I came to her about, which is about 50 years. I finally have the tools I need, and a God centered position to proceed with. My perspective has been permanently "changed for the good" and I am so appreciative. I feel so good, so free, so unburdened. Probably the best compliment I can give her comes from my husband. He said, "You are so much calmer and happier since you have been visiting with your counselor. I'm so glad you chose to do this. Keep going until you are satisfied!" I am braver and stronger through this experience with Candace. I can never thank her enough.
Very good good Experience.
Candace is great! She listens to my concerns and helps me address them in ways I feel comfortable. She always responds to my messages in a timely fashion no matter the time of day. I would definitely recommend her to others!
Candace is phenomenal !
The greatest gift Candace has is hearing me. It's not a quality many possess, I don't ever feel I have to overly try an explain myself or research for words to make sense of myself for her. It makes our conversations flow easier and making it easier to open up and be more vulnerable. We've accomplished so much in the time we've been working together.

She helped me find me, grow stronger in my relationship with God and has helped me become an all over better person. There are no words to express my gratitude for everything she has done for me!
Being new to therapy I was a bit apprehensive as to whether or not it would be beneficial for me. Candace has done an amazing job of making me feel comfortable to share and truly listened too. Great work
I feel Candace really cares and that is important to me.
Candace and I have been chatting a short while. She has aided me in itemizing issues. Makes sure to respond to all topics I bring up, and sometimes suggests courses of action to consider. I'm very stubborn, yet dont REALLY know what I need, cause i kinda know, but I'm not really sure most the times.
I’ve only been talking with Candace for a couple months but I can honestly say it’s been a life saver. I was an anxious wreck before talking to her, but she helps me rationalize and organize my thoughts. I talk to her about work and home life stressors and she always has great useful advice.
She’s a great listener and gives great feedback and different options to make therapy work for me. I appreciate her and everything she’s done for me.
This is my first time seeking therapy and I was certainly a bit nervous. Talking to Candace feels like I’m taking to a lifelong friend that has my best interest in mind. Felt very comfortable right of the bat and it allowed me to be very open with her. I received a bunch of great tips on how to work on the issues I’m having with this pandemic and I’m grateful that a service like this exists.
Candace does a great job listening and being empathetic to each situation. Candace has a wide expertise and is wise in giving advice and letting me share when I need and want to. I highly recommend her for your counselor.
Candace is awesome. I could go on forever but I’ll let you (others seeking counseling) decide. I think she’ll be in my mind as long as I have the ability to remember.
I haven't been with her for too long but she has already helped me drastically.
She been totally amazing and willing to be helpful. She listens and does her best to respond to you as soon as she can. She is very thoughtful with her responses and willing to see things from your point of view without any judgment. I would definitely recommend her.

Candace has been more than helpful!
I'm happy that I have someone very supportive and helping me build up as a person.
Candace has been a huge help. She is very quick to respond, which I greatly appreciate. She even scheduled a last minute phone call with me when I needed help the most; taking time out of her outside scheduled hours. I feel she truly cares about helping me and I recommend her to anyone. Her advice has been very valuable. I look forward to working with her more. Thank you so much, Candace!

Candace has been understanding and supportive of me and my concerns.
Candace Newland did an amazing job helping me through the struggles of being a step-dad, and adapting to my new responsibilities.
