Welcome to my page! I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in Michigan, California, and Washington with a decade of experience assisting others to relieve distress and promote and restore positive relationships. I have worked with adults and children helping them overcome anxious thoughts and behaviors, process past experiences, and support healthy living. Being supportive of healthy choices and remaining true to oneself is a process therapy can nurture. Creating meaningful connections and a more satisfying life experience can be achieved with healthy conversation that gives you permission to be yourself and connect with others authentically. With an open mind and a non-judgmental treatment approach, we create the space to collaboratively meet your goals. I am passionate about secure attachment, nonviolent communication, the connection between boundaries and anxiety, speaking up and reducing emotional paralysis and communication skills to reduce anxiety.

Julia is an excellent therapist who has taught and supported me so much. I have a hard time being vulnerable and connecting with people but I love talking to Julia! I'm a late-in-life self-diagnosed autistic woman who loves playing video games. Despite having very different hobbies and experiences than me, Julia has always been warm, open, and interested. She pays attention to what you need and has amazing empathy and patience.

Julia is amazing. She has been helping me for over a year now and she has really made a difference for me. I wish that I had met her 20 or 30 years ago. I think that that would have saved me a lot of heartache along the way. Julia is wise and very knowledgeable - I have learned countless things along the way from her. Best of all for me is that Julia is very non judgmental - my time and sessions with her are a really safe place for me and I truly enjoy that. She makes it ok to talk about things that I am embarrassed or ashamed of; I have told her things that I have not told anyone else. I’ve had a couple therapists but she’s the best fit for me. It’s hard to put into words I guess. I wanted someone who’d listen and push back. Someone to talk to and offer differing perspectives. She does and it’s been great. She’s helped me with growth in expressing vulnerability and I guess what would be considered living in the moment; expressing and feeling without relying on coping mechanisms like numbing or humor that cause a delayed or retrospective experience of events. She’s helped me with minimizing harsh personal judgement and unrealistic expectations of self. Her guidance has helped in finding an internal peace and contentment. I don’t know these are just some ways she’s helped me. I’m sure she could help you too.
