My name is Dr. Valerie Quarles. I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and hold licensures in three states; Connecticut, Georgia and South Carolina. I received my bachelor’s degree in Human Services from Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts and Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW), with a Clinical Specialization in Children/Families, from Fordham University in Manhattan, New York. In 2012, I received my Doctorate of Philosophy in Human Services with Specialization Social and Community Services from Capella University in Minneapolis, MN.
I am a veteran in working with individuals, children and families and have over thirty years of experience to offer you. Some of my experiences include working with populations such as: children/youth/families, elderly, juveniles, and adults with issues of substance abuse, HIV/AIDS, mental health and domestic violence prevention and intervention. I have also worked with complex trauma, depression, family issues involved in divorce, custody, and family violence situations. Some of my skills involve the use of the DSM-V, crisis intervention, co-parenting issues, mediations, and empowerment skills to assist individuals in becoming self-sufficient.
It is my aim to empower individuals to use their strengths and skills in attaining and maintaining their goals, personal growth, and self-sufficiency. I contend that it is important to positively role model and to teach others the value of caring for themselves and others. I am very eclectic in my therapy approach in which I combine Cognitive Behavioral, Psychodynamic, Problem Solving, Task-Centered, Solution Focus, Narrative, and Crisis. I will personalize our discussion to create a customized treatment plan to assist you in your success.
Lastly, I live by four recipes for a “Happy Life” that are simply….First, “To thy own self be true”…..Secondly, “Be impeccable with your words”. Thirdly, “Don’t take anything personally”. Fourth, “Always, do your best, because the best is yet to come”. Therefore, with each moment, we come closer to reaching our goals. I look forward to working with you!

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.
Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Great and very resourceful
Dr. Quarles has helped my heart and soul understand me a little better. Things about myself I never noticed she found in just a short time of knowing me. I believe finding the right person to talk to can make life a bit easier and that is what Dr. Quarles has done for me. I appreciate her giving me all of her attention when I needed it the most and I would love to one day come back to her.
In this short period of time, Dr. Quarles help me more than I could have ever imagined. She really let me see the situations from a difference angle which opened my eyes to new views. I intend on continuing to stay with her.
Thanks for everything!
Dr. Quarles has been an absolute pleasure to work with. From my first session, there was a click and I immediately knew that she would be the one who could help me. She’s an attentive listener, very caring, and genuine. She’s also given me great tools to help me along my journey. I would highly recommend her to anyone.
I have only had 2 sessions with Dr Quarles, but as early as our first session she made me feel like she understood where I was coming from, she made me feel more capable and better about myself in just one session! I can’t wait to continue to work on myself and grow with her!
Dr. Quarles is a good listener. We have talked twice but I feel that I have a good connection with her. I felt better after the first session.
Dr. Quarrels is great! She takes her time and really listens and provides great advice.
