She’s very smart and always has a compassionate tone. She humanizes therapy, it’s not me verse the therapist. It’s just two people talking trying to work through things together.

More about Arianne

  • 17 years' experience
  • Female
  • LCSW

I am licensed in the State of Maine as a LCSW. I have a BA in Psychology from the University of Maine and a Masters in Clinical Social Work from Boston University. I have been in practice since 2006. I have worked in hospital settings, outpatient practice, community agencies, and school settings.

My primary therapy approach is person centered and that a strong therapeutic relationship is key for growth and achievement of treatment goals. Therapy should be an authentic experience in which the client is heard and valued. I approach therapeutic relationships with care, empathy, and gentle directiveness. I believe that true change and growth must happen from the inside out and is guided by the client.

I have the most experience working with clients managing depression and anxiety, also change of life circumstances such as divorce, parenting, moving, ect. I use theories and techniques derived from mindfulness, expressive therapy, and DBT. Treatment is built on what best suits the client to help them reach their goals.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
