I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and am providing individual counseling at a small health center. I've been here for 9 yrs. Prior to that I worked in an OP clinic working with very ill population. I was a crisis worker for 10 yrs prior to that. I've worked in the city and now in rural health care. I feel so grateful to be doing this work and listening to peoples personal stories. I also start where the client is at and I practice with transparency regarding my assessment and recommendations. I always use CBT to one degree or another. I aid people in changing problem saturated stories and finding a more positive lens. I look for change language and try to build on that. I am a level II EMDR trained therapist so I do a fair share of trauma work. I find that we are all more alike than we are different and I can always connect with people at some level. I never claim to have the answers, but I always give 100% to support and encourage change.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions. Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Barbara is such a great counselor to say the least. She was quick to understand my situation, concerns, and needs. She always reminds me to stay present in the moment and to be in the now. She is able to calm me down when I have anxiety and depression. Her feedback is valuable. She’s very patient and makes sure that I shared everything I wanted to share before the session is over, so I don’t miss anything. Barbara Chase is an amazing counselor. I am happy with the counseling sessions that I got with her. I highly recommend her.
