Stephanie is the best counselor! She listens, challenges limiting beliefs, holds you accountable when needed, and encourages you to apply new resources to solve challenges. I would not have worked through 3 different life dilemmas without her assistance. I keep returning to work with Stephanie for therapy and in so grateful for her caring nature and dedication to seeing me achieve all that I desire for my life. Super encouraging to have a faith-based counselor in my inner circle.

Hello! My name is Stephanie. Thank you for your contact and your courage to take a first step toward your personal wellness. For over 25 years, I have provided therapeutic counseling to adults and children in the Washington DC and Maryland area.I have worked with clients that were experiencing a myriad of diagnoses and personal issues including anxiety, trauma and abuse, mood disorders, stress, and relationship conflicts.

I understand that sometimes just navigating one's day to day circumstances may raise challenges that need talking through with someone who will listen with empathy and support and without judgement. My approach to treatment is to use a strength-based perspective that combines solution focused therapy, cognitive behavioral interventions, use of trauma informed care, and mindfulness. The collaborative journey of therapy will allow us to gain insight from your choices, embrace your competence, contemplate tough questions, and set goals and intentions for new possibilities. I believe it is important to respect the person as well their perspective. With your help, I will tailor our work together to meet your unique and specific needs.

I would value the opportunity to learn more about how I could encourage and empower you to persevere toward personal fulfillment and well being. When you are ready, I look forward to working with you!

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Stephanie has been the light in my life in ways I never even thought were possible. She has become my friend and my rock during uncertain times and while experiencing so much change, it’s hard to imagine going back to navigating things alone. I only wish I started counseling sooner. She understands things I have a hard time putting into words, and knows exactly what I’m trying to explain. Everyone needs a Stephanie.

Stephanie has really been the rock I never knew I needed to get through a lot of things. Over a short period of time we have established a strong bond and I’m able to be vulnerable with her. She listens to me and understands me without judgement. I look forward to our sessions everytime and feel fulfilled after talking to her. She has helped me navigate very difficult situations in my life while empowering me to regain my confidence. This is my first time getting therapy and I wish I had done this sooner. I couldn’t be more grateful

Stephanie is so compassionate yet knows how to ask the hard questions. She does so in a way that makes you feel safe and comfortable so that further growth can take place.

I’m so grateful that I got connected with Stephanie. I’m an external processor and have had experiences with other therapists that attempt to rush to a summary of what I’m expressing and lead me to a space that I wasn’t headed towards & a resolve that doesn’t really fit. Stephanie is a great listener and has an ability to gently guide and challenge me without telling me what to do. She allows me the space to examine what my options are for next steps and offers the encouragement I need to actually take them. She helps me restore peace and a bit of balance to the chaos that’s often running through my mind.

Stephanie is the best counselor I’ve ever worked with. She is a great listener and motivator, even in the worst of times. She shares encouraging scripture to face some hard workplace stress moments. She also makes me feel comfortable sharing stories about my workplace hostile environment as a Black senior leader working with a majority White leadership team.
