Nan is one of the best things that life has brought me. Her support is invaluable. I’ve made massive progress on my goals over the past few months working with her. She helps me remember that I am strong and capable. She helps me not take my emotions or struggles so seriously. She helps me stay out of my head and instead stay in action. She also (and this is the biggest one) she helps me feel l like my desires and goals are within reach for me and she helps me to stay focused on trusting myself instead of listening to everyone else in my life who doubts me. Thanks Nan! For the laughs, support and validation.

Hello!
Welcome to Betterhelp.
I have been in practice for over 30 years in both Michigan and New York, my hometown. My training includes psychoanalytic, psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique (tapping), and Imago with couples.
My areas of expertise include depression, anxiety, panic disorder, relationship issues, parenting skills, school and career problems. I also provide life coaching that I combine with counseling as needed. The two combined approaches can provide a very effective way to resolve resistances and blocks to success.
I provide therapy to teens through seniors. I work with individuals, couples and families.
It is my goal to create a safe, comfortable environment for you in order to help you say whatever is on your mind. Your needs and goals are important, and my focus is to help you get the most out of each session.
***By the way, I ask that you please schedule appointments with me directly, rather than use the online calendar. I see patients outside of BetterHelp and that time that looks open on the calendar may be taken by someone outside of BH. I want to ensure we find an available time for our sessions.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Best Regards,
Nan Miller, LCSW

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.
Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Nan is so easy to talk to and very understanding. I was very nervous and she immediately put me at ease.
Extremely experienced, thoughtful, and easy to work with. A very nice woman, I’m glad to have been put with her.
I have worked with Nan for over a year now on my anxiety and self-esteem and I can confidently say that she is a wonderful therapist with the kindest heart. She looks out for my interests, is my biggest cheerleader, and encourages me to not compromise my own needs! She has given me invaluable advice on setting boundaries with others and has just been fantastic to work with. I absolutely recommend Nan as a therapist.
Nan is very attentive, professional and supportive. After meeting with her twice, she’s already offered me a lot. Hope to continue to work with her on becoming a happier self. Thank you Nan
Nan seems to have lived a long and interesting life full of rich experiences personally and professionally. I believe this has been the most interesting and useful aspect about learning from her. I find our counselling sessions refreshing, even when we explore unpleasant memories of my past. She listens well, remains nonjudgemental, take notes and refers back to previous sessions when appropriate, and she responds to messages and journal entries in a timely manner. I have learned much from her and my life is improving through our counseling sessions. I am grateful for her! I highly recommend Nan.
Nan, has been quite helpful from the short time I’ve spent with her so far. Changing from one therapist to now (Nan), she has helped me process internalized trauma and past griefs. She’s been able to help me sort and go through my past relationship problems and even life problems. I highly recommend Nan!
Very attentive and empathetic, suggests a lot of very helpful tips with dealing with my issues. Would recommend Nan to anyone that needs an open ear without judgement and great advice
