Cathryn is a joy to work with! She helps get to the root of my feelings/emotions & provides a safe space for me to work through them. I look forward to all of our sessions, and I feel she has helped me make great progress in the just over a month that we've been working together. There is no one beside Cathryn that I would like to help me on my journey!

Hello! I'm Cathryn and I have been a professional counselor for seventeen years. I own my own practice and I also work for a non-profit substance abuse agency. I returned to school in my forties and sandwiched between my course work, peanut butter and jellies, and three young children, I embarked upon an academic journey that opened my world to new possibilities. If you think it's too late to make some changes in your life, I assure you that it's not! While I could dazzle you with my grasp of theoretical leanings, when it comes right down to it, the relationship we create together is the most important. My job is to create an environment that is trusting, warm, caring and safe. Your job is to talk, talk and talk some more. Together we will journey, but you will lead.

If you are looking for couples therapy, I am your girl. Unless you are dealing with chronic infidelity or domestic violence, experience has taught me that there is usually a pathway back to " that loving feeling." Couples typically present when things are broken. Months, or possibly years, have past without addressing the stuff that leads to hurt, frustration, disappointment, and the biggie - resentment. In therapy, you will learn healthy communication skills that allow for positive conflict negotiation. You will also learn the importance of stating expectations clearly so the likelihood of having your needs met increases dramatically! While this process is not always easy, the benefits are worth it.

I look forward to working together.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions. Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.
