ABOUT ME

I am a dual Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Alcohol and Drug Counselor in Minnesota with ten years of counseling experience and 41 years of working with those experiencing a co-occurring mental health and chemical health disorder simultaneously.

I have worked with groups and individuals experiencing a vast range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, psychosis, impulsivity, substance use and trauma. My clinical and volunteer work has been in residential, home-based and intensive outpatient settings.

My counseling style is compassionate, sensitive and positive, incorporating humor and joyfulness when appropriate. My approach combines a person-centered, trauma-informed framework, embracing one size does not fit all. I incorporate the modalities of mindfulness based stress reduction, meditation, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Narrative Therapy.

I look forward to supporting and empowering you in your journey of discovery!

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions. Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

I met Bobby at a difficult time in my life. I was going through marital problems and needed help getting my own life back on track. I was matched with Bobby and started therapy within two days of applying. He was attentive to my needs, professional, and very helpful. I had no trouble securing appointments during time frames that were convenient for me. Bobby responded to my messages very promptly and provided resources that I asked for. With his help, I was able to take care of my mental health and acquired new skills that helped me get a new perspective on life. I am grateful for Bobby's help and would recommend him to anybody who is struggling and needs help of a therapist.

Our first few sessions have been very good.

Bobby engaged with kindness and caring nature along with professionalism from the very first moment. He doesn't push but rather places the tools in front of you to use when suited. If you dig in and work he will do the same, if you need a rest he responds with kindness, compassion and empathy but has the assertiveness to challenge your thoughts and beliefs gently that you may grow. I cannot say how grateful I am that I was placed with him. Thank you Peace & Love

Astounding how much help is just a phone call away Robert gives a lot of tools and help very rapidly. Although the road to recovery is a long journey he’s able to make it seem very plausible.

Bobby is a friendly awesome therapist that understand the situation that I went through and he's always sent me fascinating informations, advices and videos to let me overcome my issue.

V.I.·May 2022

Bobby is much more attuned to what I need help with than the other therapist I met with a few times through my job a while back. I hope I can change myself somehow, but it's clear that won't be very easy.

S.T.·Apr 2022

He has literally saved my life.

O.P.·Apr 2022

I’ve recently completed a year of weekly appointments with Bobby. It has been one of the most challenging times in my life between navigating a divorce, addressing chemical dependency issues, coping with work stress, and dealing with the pandemic. Despite all of these challenges, I feel like I have the skills to deal with everything life throws at me, and I feel like I’m actually thriving.

It’s been great working with Bobby. He’s helped me with a bunch of tools for my anxiety, depression, and alcohol use. He’s gone above and beyond to also recommend things every week that would be great to do with my kids. My quality of life and relationship with my kids has improved immensely since I started working with him.

Robert (Bobbie) Frost is an inspiring counselor. In just a few short weeks working with him, I feel my mind become calmer and happier. He provides amazing tools that helps get to the root of my problems then conquering them. He's down to earth with a good sense of humor, yet very knowledgeable about his field of expertise, that makes it easy to open up to. I look forward to his calls every week.

S.H.·Mar 2021

Robert Frost (Bobby) is a very cheerful man who is very respectful. He informed me of new treatments that he wasn't certified in but offered to connect me because he felt it would benefit me. I have a fear of men due to my PTSD but he has never made me feel scared or uneasy or triggered by anything. His smile and demeanor is refreshing and he encourages and praises you for even the smallest of accomplishments, which helps me recognize how big my small steps can add up to be. If you want someone who is a positive person who doesn't seem "fake" and isn't quick to judge, Bobby is your guy! As a woman with countless traumas caused by men, Bobby is the only male therapist I have ever felt comfortable with and felt heard and not mansplained by.

S.H.·Feb 2021

Even in a few sessions, Robert has helped me find some ways to work on the issues I sought therapy for. I am thankful for my time with him!

J.A.·Feb 2021

I think Robert has been extremely helpful in guiding me as I am trying to reset/get myself "back on track". He has provided great advice, things for me to think about and try and always has great resources for me to read/watch. I really appreciate the option of having early morning sessions as this fits best with my schedule.

D.A.·Feb 2021

My counseling with Robert has been wonderful. He is a great listener and provides professional feed back and advice. Along with worksheets and inspiring, motivating links that help me a ton. I am glad Robert is my counselor!
