More about Jill

  • 25 years' experience

Finding the right therapist is an important and courageous step in the process of creating a more fulfilling life. I’m a licensed psychologist in Minnesota with over 25 years experience working with individuals, couples and families. I’ve worked with clients to address a wide range of issues in both a community social service agency and in private practice. I added both adult ADHD coaching and life coaching to my practice over 20 years ago. I work primarily with clients on issues related to anxiety, adult ADHD (including building skills related to time management, organization, and prioritizing), decision-making, goal setting, communication, relationships, parenting, and life transitions.

I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the foundation for this work. I take a strengths-based approach in which we will build on your strengths to work toward the personal growth you are committed to achieving. I believe that everyone has their own answers, and I will work collaboratively with you and offer you support, feedback and perspective to help you move forward. I will create a non-judgmental, safe space in which you can address difficult topics.

I work from a developmental perspective, where we will look at what you are experiencing in the context of your life’s experiences. I use a variety of approaches including cognitive-behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, and solution-focused therapy.

Congratulations on taking this step. I look forward to working with you.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
