More about Patricia

  • 12 years' experience

  • LCSW

I have 14 years counseling experience. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have been with the same agency for the duration of my time counseling which I love. I have been training in Progressive Counting which is a trauma based therapy and have been doing this with clients for the past two years.

While I do trauma work, that is not my primary focus. I enjoy working with the geriatric population, and until COVID, was doing homebased therapy to that age group. I work with individuals experiencing a wide range of issues but most that come to me are dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, and mood disorders.

I have experience working with end of life issues/grief as well and have held a per diem position with Hospice for the past ten years. I find that many clients experience these issues whether or not they are connected with Hospice so my work with Hospice has aided me in providing care to those in my full time clinical setting.

I approach treatment with a person/client centered approach. I like to engage with my clients on their level and find some common ground to help with building rapport for the therapeutic relationship. I utilize a Cognitive Behavioral approach and Solution Focused approach often.

I truly enjoy helping others and this is a different platform for me to do so. I commend anyone who reaches out for help as well all need it sometimes.

I very much look forward to working with you!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space. Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
