More about Cherie

  • 3 years' experience
  • Female
  • LCSW

I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), licensed in the state of North Carolina. I have been providing therapy for the past five years but I have had a passion for listening and helping people since my adolescent years. I have worked with a wide range of people and populations. I have experience with a variety of mental health conditions such as, depression, anxiety, addiction, anger management issues, grief/loss, trauma experiences and relationship conflicts.

My approach to therapy is to be direct and honest with my clients, working together with you as a team. I will always incorporate what you think and how you feel into, where we are going in therapy. Depending on what your treatment goals are, I use some different therapeutic interventions, such as, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

My focus is to ensure you have a safe and comfortable place to share your experiences by building rapport and by always maintaining respect for my clients. Therapy will move at your pace and distance to achieve your overall therapeutic goals.

I look forward to working with you.

A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
