Hello! My name is Andrew Charney and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Pennsylvania, a National Certified Counselor (NCC), am certified in Family Therapy, Level 1 Rational Living Therapy (Reality), and Gambling Addiction. I incorporate cognitive behavioral interventions, mindfulness with DBT, and motivational interviewing.

I have 9 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults providing individual, couples, and family therapy, in addition to addiction counseling and group counseling.

I emphasize the importance of holistic wellness to connect the body, mind, and spirit which allows my clients to achieve their optimal level of physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness.

I would describe my approach to be person-centered overall while seeing importance in being genuine, empathetic, and warm. My primary goal is to provide a safe, therapeutic space for each client.

When working with families and couples I utilize a systemic focus with the structural family therapy (SFT) model to create/manage boundaries, assess relational patterns, and emphasize on the value of connection among family members.

I enjoy running, weightlifting, eating at new restaurants, hiking outdoors, spending time with my family, and relaxing with my two dogs as self-care.

You’ve taken a big step in changing your life by being here. I am happy to serve as a source of hope and motivation on your journey to a better place.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

I am so glad that I found Andrew on here. His positive attitude and caring demeanor are huge helps in my struggles. There have been times when I would check-in a few times a week or had difficult periods of anxiety and he was there to help me through. It's almost as if Andrew is a trusted friend instead of my therapist, and that says a lot to me.

Andrew is a great counselor. At first I was torn and wasn't sure if I would be comfortable with a man, but he immediately made it easy to become comfortable by understanding my anxiety. I'm only a few weeks in, but I just find comfort in knowing he is there when I need help or questions, and easy to talk to in our sessions. Would highly recommend!
