Hello! Now pause a moment. Thank yourself for taking this step toward a deeper connection with self and others too, a step toward what you value most . . . Yes, you are exploring something important to you right now that you feel you want to experiment, play, and/or make change around. I am honored that you are considering partnering with me. In addition to being licensed in the state of Texas as a Professional Counselor, I am a Certified Health and Wellness Coach. Additionally, I understand the powerful and sometimes baffling feelings that arise and are present within the grieving process so work with others on this path as well.

With over 27 years of experience in the healthcare field, including 17 with UT MD Anderson Cancer Center in the areas of organization change, integrative health, behavioral health, and wellness, I meet people and organizations where they are to better understand their goals ever mindful of how these are grounded in what's most important to them.

My specialties include lifestyle behavior change; chronic and terminal illness, grief, women's issues, caregivers, partners of betrayal trauma, relationship issues, self-regulation strategies, and transitions in relationships, careers, school, health; and just life in general as well as the grieving that can accompany these changes. Building on existing strengths; developing insight into challenges; seeing opportunities to learn; my goal is to empower others utilizing strategies including CBT, mindfulness, positive psychology, strength-based, and psychodynamic theories. Let's get started . . .

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions. Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Laura has been a wonderful counselor in the short time we have been working together. We message back and forth regularly through text and during our voice and video sessions she is warm, understanding, and supportive. She listens and deciphers your emotions and experiences immensely well and I would recommend her highly to anyone who may be matched with her.
