Welcome! I'm excited you have decided to take this amazing first step in becoming your best self! My name is Kiran and I am here to help support and guide you on your journey. Many people have an idea about what therapy is and what I like to tell my clients is that therapy can mean many things to different people. Some use therapy as a way to learn how to live again after a traumatic experience and others may feel stuck and need some guidance. Whatever therapy means to you, I will support you by meeting you where you are at and then we can go from there.
To tell you more about myself, I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a Minor is Sociology from the University of Houston. I later attended Prairie View A&M and received my Masters of Arts degree in Counseling. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (#68646) and have been working in the mental health and substance abuse field for about 10 years. I have worked in both inpatient hospitals and outpatient settings doing person-centered individual and group therapy. I have experience working with all demographics including children, adolescents, adults and families that struggle with many different issues, including but not limited to, depression, anxiety, bipolar, stress management, grief, trauma, abuse, family conflict, relationship issues, anger management, behavioral problems and other mental health concerns.
My approach to clients is simple, meet them where they are. I use multiple types of theoretical approaches to make you feel the most comfortable. I believe you know what you want and need and its my job to help you get there. I've always been intimidated by therapy, but Kiran makes me feel very comfortable and secure enough to open up about myself. I'm excited and hopeful for what's to come.
Kiran is very empathetic and always tries to build you up and help where she can. So far I'm actually very happy to have her as a therapist. I just think it's a bit of a shame that she doesn't make video or phone calls, only live chat sessions, but I still have the feeling that I'm making some progress and at least someone is hearing and understanding me.

One of the best therapists I have ever had. Very patient, understanding and kind. She is a really good listener, engages with the patient and is always trying to find ways to help you, support you and guide you through difficult situations. Gave me a new perspective to things I had been dealing with for years, and most importantly never judges or makes you feel uncomfortable for feeling or being a certain way. Very clear and straightforward goals/treatment plan. Really gets to know the patient and their past, I found sessions to be very helpful and liberating.
I have been working with Kiran for exactly a year, we are now doing some v v deep EMDR therapy and she makes me feel safe, supported and understood and most importantly truly heard. Overall a positive experience. My first real experience with therapy and Kiran made it very digestible. I am glad to have had this experience when I did.
Kiran has a way of quickly targeting issues and figuring out ways to change behavior that are comfortable for me. She really meets me where I am and works with me to make small changes, rather than huge ones. She has been so impactful and I have had several "breakthroughs" in just a couple of months of sessions.
