I am a licensed clinical therapist in Wyoming with over 30 years of experience as a social worker. I have spent my entire career serving youth and families often involved in the criminal justice and foster care system. I am a strong believer that every child deserves a permanent family, either through safe family reunification, adoption or guardianship. I also strongly advocate that children have the right to be raised with their family if it is safe. One of my greatest joys is working with alumni of the foster care system as they break cycles of negative behaviors and practice new skills to raise their children in a healthy safe home. Serving this population I have developed skills for depression, anxiety, abandonment, trauma, all forms of abuse and neglect, parenting, relationships and special needs of children of incarcerated parents and the incarcerated parent. I work with families on adoption preparation, disruption and the importance of birth family involvement and management.

As a foster and adoptive parent I have learned to draw on my experiences but be open and willing to listen and brainstorm new ways to help youth and families heal.

My counseling style is relaxed with an appropriate sense of humor. Dignity and respect are rights everyone human being deserves. and I honor different perspectives and lifestyles. I use solution focused, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, person centered therapies.

I will start where people are and walk with them towards healing.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space. Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Cindy has been a great counselor! She really took the time to read my intake questionnaire and asked me pointed questions on our first meeting to really get to know me. She is well-versed in techniques and methodology to help with the multiple things I’ve come to her with. I really appreciate her!

K.R.·Jun 2021

Cindy was so kind to me from the moment she heard my voice. She was very thoughtful of sending me thoughts of the day, exercises, or tasks. She provided me with a handful of resources and always expressed that they were just suggestions. This was my first time getting help and I always felt comfortable speaking with her. She has such a warm tone and loving nature about herself. She never failed to encourage me and leave me with a positive affirmation. Every area of my life isn’t perfect but I know that I felt better every time I walked out than when I walked in. I’m very grateful to have been connected with her especially, for my first time doing something like this. Thank you Cindy

S.A.·May 2021

I appreciate Cindy’s kindness and honesty. She hears me out and give a very positive perspective, but also a realistic one. I couldn’t have asked for “better help” :)

R.A.·May 2021

Cindy is simply wonderful. She is a great listener and I felt at ease with her right away. I was matched with her by BetterHelp and I couldn't be happier. Cindy has a lot of experience, she understood right away my needs and concerns and she is able to address them with empathy and professionalism. I talk with her by video session, chat and I share my journal with her, too. She is very responsive, attentive and she really takes time to read what I share with her. She is not just a great listener, but she always gives me good recommendation to improve my life and my problems. With Cindy, I feel like I started to making progress in my life since day 1. Highly recommended.
