I am a licensed clinical social worker with 17 years of experience working with patients who have various mental health diagnosis. I have specialty experience with anxiety disorder, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and personality disorder. I use a client centered approach when working with clients, along with CBT, DBT and MI techniques. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. My expertise is not limited to the aforementioned specialties and I would love to help anyone who needs mental health counseling. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. If for any reason I am unable to serve a client, I can refer them to a therapist that better meets his/her needs. Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions. Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

I am so thankful to Sonya! She was there for me at a time I needed someone the most this past month. I was able to actually talk and vent and cry and get out every emotion I needed to. Thankful for a listening ear and all the help she gave me by just actually being there! Sometimes when you are the one who is there for everyone else it is nice to finally have someone there for you when you need the help! I hope to continue with her here again soon!

Sonya was very easy to talk to. That was something I worried about considering I’d never gone to therapy before. But, I was in great hands. I was able to be completely open with Sonya. She helped me work through family issues, work stress, and personal struggles. She offered the emotional and spiritual support that I needed throughout the holiday season. I’m so grateful to have been matched with an amazing therapist.

I have been meeting with Sonya for a month now and I am so happy with the help she has provided me. She quickly recognized the exact balance of guiding and listening that I need and our meetings have been incredibly helpful for me. I can see that she has great intuition and insight into what would help me... so much so that when I doubt something would help but did the "homework" anyways, it resulted in a huge perspective shift for me. I would highly recommend her to anyone, especially deconstructing christians and those with issues regarding their faith.

Sonya is absolutely amazing! She treats her clients with compassion, respect, kindness and warmth. She always seeks clarification and actively listens to everything I say and can point out things I don’t even realize myself! I find great ease in the open communication she maintains and the accepting and space and environment she always creates. It allows me to be vulnerable and completely open with my thoughts and feelings. I always leave my sessions with Sonya feeling motivated and more in tune with myself.
