More about Vicki

  • 20 years' experience
  • Female
  • LPC

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor licensed in Alabama with over 20 years experience working with clients in my private practice and addictions treatment programs. My clients have come from all walks of life and have ranged in age from teens to seniors with problems that were fairly simple to solve to very complex issues that needed thoughtful exploration and innovative solutions. Because I am also a Registered Nurse, some clients have chosen to work with me around accepting and managing a medical problem that they or a loved one are learning to better manage.

My approach to therapy is based in my interest in Jung and Adler while my style is founded in a typically Rogerian, client-centered warm approach. My training in Cognitive based therapy leads me to lean into using CBT techniques when the problems presented lend themselves to this approach. Because each person is different, I tend to match my approach to the person seeking help while always believing that my first responsibility is to listen because healing begins with the telling of the story.

It takes courage to tell one's story to another and if you choose me to hear your story and journey with you to your answers, I promise to always keep your best interest top of mind and heart.

I look forward to meeting you.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
