I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been providing counseling for more than twenty years. I have a master's degree in Social Welfare and experience in a wide range of areas, including grief and loss, stress management, parenting challenges, depression, and communication in relationships. I know that making the decision to start therapy, and reaching out to find someone you can trust, is a big step, often one that people think about for a long time before they actually take it. As you take that step today, I would like to offer some ideas about where this journey could take you. From my work with clients over the years, and from my own personal experience as well, I have come to see the process of therapy as something like looking through a new window, one that allows you to see your life and situation more clearly. In all of the challenges we face, big and small, perspective is key. Each of us is looking at our situation from the inside, in the way we have become accustomed to looking at it. This view is often fogged up and blurry. We are so close to it that we can’t see the forest for the trees. Therapy is about getting distance and perspective. This can come through insight, recognizing relationship patterns and being open to changing them, and questioning long-held assumptions that you didn’t realize you had until someone calls your attention to them. But as important as this awareness is, it usually needs to be followed with concrete steps in order to result in true change. Baby steps at first – in my experience we often underestimate the big results that can come from the smallest shifts. As we experiment with new behaviors, we begin to see ourselves differently. One small success doing something you didn’t think you could do can result in a ripple effect of seeing possibilities that you never knew were there before, and that is where real growth happens.
My goal is to help people live more authentically, live with intention, and make deliberate and conscious choices rather than following old patterns that they never before thought to question. These ideas have
brought me to some of the most important light bulb moments in my own life, and it brings me great happiness to see the moment that someone else begins to see that they have a wider range of options than they ever realized.
If it sounds like I might be a good fit for you, I look forward to getting to know you, hearing the unique story that is yours alone, and working as a team as you find the clarity, peace, and confidence that will lead you to a brighter future.

It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.

Julie is a kind and caring professionals, a great listener who helped me navigate a lot of uncertainty in work and life.
Thank you Julie! You have been an enormous help in my growth.
They are able to find resources that help you with your issues. Even when you don’t want to talk, they are able to bring up something and allow you to find your way to your issues.
She stays solution oriented without making me feel like my problems are invalid. I have only had 2 sessions with her, but I find myself very much looking forward to each session. She gives me materials that are specific to my issues- and the best part is I feel extremely heard by her. She doesn't judge me for ranting about my problems, she doesn't tell me I am negging out, she listens, validates my mind/emotions, and then offers solutions/coping skills- along with an explanation of why she thinks this would be best for me based on what she was hearing-she also asks questions to get to know my situation better if she is confused about part of my flow- she doesn't just continue on, she makes sure she understands what I am saying before she goes into what she is saying-and as someone who trains and develops people into leaders I know that is super value.
Julie is extremely supportive and reliable and is easy to talk to. I feel heard and respected in our sessions and if I message her, she always gets back to me in a timely manner with very thoughtful responses. I am grateful to have her in my life; she has already helped me through so much.
Julie is an excellent listener. I talk so much of our time together but when she asks questions or offers encouragement I can tell that she hears 100% of what I’m telling her. In the 3 years we’ve been together I have never felt misunderstood when she responds to my concerns, issues, anxieties, fears. I know that it’s her help over the years that prepared and equipped me with the tools to get through the pandemic.
Julie has been amazing. I went through several therapists in the past and felt like my concerns and needs weren’t met. With Julie, I am fully comfortable to voice all of my problems and she helps provide me with solutions to work through them. Julie has been a constant support for me through difficult times.
Julie is very knowledgeable and really insightful. Ive been in therapy for 12 years and she is the best therapist I've had. She is really helping me work through my trauma and learn real time coping mechanisms.
Julie is great and helpful therapist. She had helped me work through some of the hardest moments and decisions in my life and I look forward to our talks each week

I’ve been working with Julie on and off for a few months now. She is so kind, understanding and non judgmental. My favorite thing is that she is always offering resources for me to look at outside of our sessions. I’m a big reader, so I love that! Julie has helped me so much over the last few months. She really listens with a compassionate ear, and is always encouraging me to be more compassionate with myself. Thank you Julie!
I don't know how I would have gotten through the first half of 2020 without Julie's help. I feel happier and calmer and more in control of my self now after her help. She is a good listener.

I would definitely recommend Julie to friends.
I have been working whit my counselor just for 3 weeks and I have noticed a difference in my behavior and way of thinking. I have been struggling with depression for more than 3 years and having an option like Better Help is just what I needed...affordable and works with my schedule.
Julie has been very open minded. She's a good listener and offers helpful insights. I'm still in the early stages of therapy but I already feel better knowing I have her available.

Julie is a joy to work with. No matter what I’m feeling, her words of wisdom and encouragement always makes me feel better.
It's like having a completely unbiased friend who never tires of hearing me out and never tires of helping me sift through the stories I tell myself. Julie has helped me see a lot of things in my life and in my relationships that I would never have seen without her insights.

Julie has been the best thing ever to get me threw things! She is so insightful and helpful and knows just how to treat me! I have had other counseling but non compare to Julie and her wisdom she has to give. She’s the best!
Julie has been a great counselor who is attentive, responsive and open to trying new methods to helping her clients. I felt she adapted well to my style and was very understanding of my situation which she may not have had as much experience with before. I really enjoyed our sessions together. Thank you Julie!
Julie Borden is fantastic to speak with. She is very nice person to get right to the point while still holding a friendly conversation.
I've spent a couple weeks with Julie and I like her. She's very knowledgeable and gives a lot of teaching tools. She's a very good listener and pays attention to everything i say in our video chats and write in our emails. I've in the past not been a big fan of "counseling" because I've always wanted the quick fix, I don't want to feel broken or imperfect ... but Julie has a way of reminding you by the way she counsels that it has nothing to do with being broken or imperfect and finding the fix. It has to do with thoughts and patterns and if you want to change those, learning how to do so...patiently and with forgiveness and understanding of yourself. There's no one way to be "happy", you have to figure out how to be happy by understanding how your mind works, and I really feel like Julie is helping me focus on that. By her attention to detail, I feel like I have a little accountability with some other issues like drinking, its nice to feel like someone wants to help you do better and feel better without judging you or telling you what you have to do. We all are going to do what we want, she wants to help you get to where you want if you're not there yet.
