Heather's guidance and support have encouraged me to take critical steps along my wellness journey. She supported me by acknowledging the painful emotions I was experiencing and reassuring me that I deserved to find peace and happiness. Her guidance then lead me to articulate my own core values that have become a beacon of light and hope for me. I now begin each day with mindful intentions and continue my efforts to manage uncomfortable emotions in a positive and healthy manner.

Thus far heather has been a great mirror for me and has supported me to create some added structure in my life. She is very neutral and listens to what I share in detail and in non-judgement.

Welcome to BetterHelp! My name is Heather and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in California. I graduated from the University of Southern California with a Masters in Social Work and a minor in Psychology. Early in my career, I worked in the home with at risk children and their parents to help reduce the chances of the child being placed in foster care. For the majority of my career I've worked with clients who struggle with mental illness and substance abuse issue. I've been able to be part of many miraculous stories of growth and change for the better.

I have 10 years experience helping individuals overcome low self-esteem, loss of focus, depression/anxiety, and manage trauma symptoms. My approach is solution focused and client orientated. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). All modalities are about changing thinking patterns and behaviors, but each has a specialized target for change.

Times may be challenging, but I believe that we all want to live our best life. My goal and commitment to you is that I will work closely with you, using all the tools available to us, to help you move toward your best life. I look forward to beginning our journey together!

I can't say as of yet, but Heather has been very flexible with the mix ups with time change from myself to her in the US, and understood that my work laptop did not support this site (there was a blocker) so she understood and seems like she does above and beyond, even willing to accommodate on weekends. I can't wait to meet her!
