She's great. Keeps me on task. I'm definitely feeling a big change concerning the issues i had when I first started the sessions. I'm very glad I got matched with her.

I have been to about 7 counsellors in my life, and Alexis is the first one to actually have an impact on my life. She is the most genuine and honest person, and I am so so grateful to have spoken with her. She has helped me grow and learn more about myself. Not only does she give you guidance, but she reassures you on the way. Thank you so much, Alexis for everything!

More about Alexis

Hi there! My name is Alexis and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with 12 years of experience. I have worked in various settings including outpatient, crisis stabilization, in home support, and day treatment. I work with clients with a range of concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, personality disorders, schizophrenia, and bipolar. I received my Bachelors degree from Chico State, my Masters degree from Cal Poly, and I am currently working on my PsyD and hope to finish in a year!

My goal in treatment is to support you in creating more insight and awareness into your concerns so you can have a positive sense of self and to feel more in control of your experience. My approach is through a variety of modalities which are chosen based on your individual needs. I will utilize your strengths to create a foundation of treatment. I utilize a client centered approach as you are the expert in your life and that will help guide the direction of therapy. I utilize Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) to help you explore the relationships among thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to aid in discovering dysfunctional thought patterns leading to self-destructive behaviors and beliefs. Using Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), I support clients through developing skills: mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and emotion regulation with the goal of moving clients towards a life involving the capacity for experiencing joy and freedom. Thank you for reaching out and I look forward to working with you.

Online counseling allows you to receive care from a mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.

She is absolutely wonderful. I've seen great progress since starting my sessions with her. She explains everything very clearly, and is very patient and constructive.

Alexis is very down to earth, and therefore very grounding. I told her that I will be substituting my inner critical voice with hers instead. She has practical, workable ideas. She gives concrete examples and sends helpful worksheets. She listens well and responds with on-point feedback. I have already recommended her to a friend.
