I am licensed in CT as a Professional Counselor and Alcohol and Drug Counselor for over 30 years. I have been a Betterhelp therapist part time basis for the past two years. I have experience in counseling in a variety of settings, hospitals, community non-profits, family services and the state. I have been a clinical supervisor and program director with expertise in implementing evidence-based practices in substance use disorders, mental health and couples therapy. I have worked with families related to trauma, substance use and recovery. Much of counseling experience have been working with individuals, families, trauma and recovery. I am a private consultant to federal/state governments and tribes on improving the quality of mental health and addiction recovery services. I am a board member on Multi-Dimensional Family Therapy Inc. I retired from the State of CT Department of Children and Families over ten years ago where I was the Director of Substance Abuse Services. I provided clinical consultation to child welfare and juvenile justice.

My counseling approach is trauma informed and client centered. I use evidence based interventuons such as motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, structural/strategic family therapy, and other practices.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space. Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
