She earned a bachelor’s in organizational management from HBCU Edward Waters University and an associate degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management from Johnson & Wales University. Dr. Pitts-Bounds is a Fulbright Alumni Ambassador, a former Fulbright Scholar to Barbados, and member of the Fulbright Specialist roster. Dr. Pitts-Bounds has received numerous awards and recognition for her work in the areas of clinical excellence, empowerment, education, community activism, social justice, and equality. Dr. Pitts-Bounds is the host of “Dr. Pitts-Bounds Tips LIVE!”, a weekly information packed event Thursday evenings on Facebook and Instagram where the focus is on providing powerful, albeit raw life, relationship, and mental health information that listeners may choose to utilize to make well-informed life-transforming decisions!

Prior to starting therapy, my confidence was a bit shaky, I struggled with having an inherent sense of self worth, and multiple of my close relationships were riddled with confusion, misaligned expectations and quite a bit of hurt. By working with Dr. Pitts, I've developed a different perspective, gained an inherent sense of self worth, and grown closer to more consistently solid and positive person I know I can be! In particular, my relationship with my spouse has begun to feel more lighthearted again and is regaining a sense of sweetness, which is priceless.

Dr Pitts was the first therapist I was matched with, and I was nervous we wouldn't get along as I've heard some people don't get along with their first therapist. It’s my first time to seek counseling and was very thoughtful about picking BetterHelp - doing my research, reading articles and reviews. I was a little wary of how I’m going to be assigned a counselor but did my best to fill out the questionnaire, and Dr. Pitts is my first match. I think BetterHelp did a great job with the match and I feel lucky that the first one is working out for me so far - Dr. Pitts is very professional, communicates well and in a timely manner, insightful (her expertise shows), is present in our interactions (listens, pays attention to detail, actively engages), and kind without being patronizing.
