More about Amanda

Hi there!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in both Florida and Colorado with over 7 years of experience working as a therapist. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, career challenges, and ADHD. Additionally, I am a member of the LGBTQ+ community and provide support to clients who might be struggling with their identity, family problems and self-esteem. I believe that families and relationships come in all shapes and sizes and I am both kink and poly aware.

Due to both familial and personal experiences with mental health concerns, grief, and trauma, I was drawn to therapy from a young age. Positive experiences with counseling lead me to develop an interest in pursuing therapy as a career. I believe the best therapists must first have experience as clients themselves, and I do not believe in stigmatizing mental health concerns. Instead, I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My counseling style is warm, interactive, and nonjudgmental and I am client centered, using various interventions from a range of therapeutic approaches.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my dogs, crafting, watching sci-fi or anime, and playing video games. I also have no problem with labeling myself as a Trekkie, and named both of my dogs after Star Trek characters. If you are looking for a nerdy therapist, I definitely fit that bill.

It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling, happier life, and to take the first steps towards change. If you are ready to take that step, I would be happy to have the opportunity to support and empower you on your journey.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space. Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Amanda has been amazing from day 1. She spent a lot of time getting to know me and asking as many questions as possible about my situation so that she could deliver the best help possible to me. She listens, she doesn't dictate answers back to me, she just shows that she genuinely cares and helps as much as possible. She checks in when I haven't said anything in a while, she provides article for me to read that pertain to my situation, she's realistic about what our goals should be, and we meet them. I highly recommend Amanda, she is absolutely the best counselor I've had.

Amanda is a very kind, considerate, and understanding person. She's very empathetic and always seems to understand the feelings underlying the words you're trying to convey to her. And most importantly, she doesn't make simple judgments about you, the people you know, or the situation, because nothing about those things is simple and straightforward, and she understands that. I'm very thankful to have her as my counselor.

I had Amanda as my counselor for about a month and felt so much relief about my anxiety which helped my depression. After a month of talking to her I thought all my problems were figured out but as soon as I deleted my betterhelp account my anxiety got worse and I felt the need to talk to someone. I remade the account after a few months and requested Amanda as my counselor as she is very concerned, compassionate, and understanding of what you want to be figured out about yourself and problems. Also to mention, she is very comfortable to talk to.
