We have only had a few sessions together, but so far it has been helpful and I appreciate the worksheets, articles, and ideas she sends my way to help me through some of my challenges

I have found my therapist to be easy to engage with, and despite the modality we use (live chat) I definitely feel that she is very present for me. My sessions don’t feel rushed, and she has provided a lot of material for me to read, which is something I find very helpful.

More about Holly

✝ I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Florida. I started out 20 years ago working with the elderly and disabled. I spent 15 years working with hospice and home health patients and their families, to address emotional needs and provide grief counseling and support. It was through these experiences that I learned the need for compassion and support in my community. The last 8 years I have focused in on clinical counseling in nursing homes, schools, outpatient therapy, and now am privileged to experience online therapy through the BetterHelp forum.

During my time in the mental health field I am still surprised at the number of people who tell me they have no one in their lives to just listen to their concerns and feelings. My approach is to try to meet my clients where they are at. I like to move at a pace that best fits individual situations, needs, and comfort level. I prefer treatment approaches of Interpersonal, Relational, Solution-Focused, Cognitive Behavioral, Narrative therapy concepts, as well as Christianity Faith-based counseling. These types of therapies assist me in helping my clients with re-framing and replacing negative thoughts and behaviors with positive ones. I work with my clients to aim at helping my clients: challenge any irrational thoughts and distorted thinking that lead to anxiety and depression; close past chapters of life in order to focus on the present and future seasons of life; find ways to improve overall mood, and increase comfort levels in social situations; introduce positive coping and thinking patterns, and relaxation techniques.

I do share my sense of humor with my clients, as I think laughing and humor are good for the body, mind, and soul. I’m very glad that I now work specifically in the area of mental health wellness. It has been the most satisfying work I have ever done. I enjoy working with others, problem solving, giving emotional support, and being the one to provide a listening ear. ✝

It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. Holly helped me through a very difficult time in life. She understands how to work through situations in which multiple factors are contributing and dissect them piece by piece so it’s not so overwhelming. She also provides “help sheets” based on individual needs that are designed to help achieve your goals of therapy.

Holly is a wonderful and supportive counselor. She listens to me and just lets me talk when she knows I need to. I can “unload” on her and I know she’s listening. She sends me frequent and uplifting messages through the portal as well as sending me “exercises” if she thinks it will help. I think of Holly as a friend that’s easy to talk to with no judgements. That’s the best trait that a counselor can have - to be thought of as a friend with great advise as opposed to a strict “no nonsense” advisor.

I've tried counseling many times in the past and always felt almost immediately that it was not beneficial. With just one session with Holly, I'm very hopeful to make progress in overcoming my issues.
