Hello! My name is Lynnette Montañez and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 7 years of experience working as a therapist. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma and sexual abuse, substance abuse, parenting problems, ADHD, and Bipolar Disorder, with a special focus in adoption and foster care issues.
I am originally from Illinois and relocated to Florida in 2010. I received my undergraduate degree in Social Work from Florida International University and my Master's Degree in Social Work from Barry University.
My approach to therapy is interactive and client centered. Building rapport with my clients and gaining a clear understanding of their needs is of utmost importance for me. Using a strengths-based approach, I guide clients in identifying their strengths and work together to develop a treatment plan that will reinforce positive thinking and accomplish their goals. Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I assist my clients in learning the connection between their thoughts, feelings and behaviors and reinforce reframing negative or dysfunctional thinking/beliefs towards a more constructive reasoning. Using Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), I support clients through developing skills such as mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and emotion regulation with the goal of guiding clients towards a more fulfilled life in which they are active and present participants.
Outside of my work as a therapist, I also work in private adoptions. I love to read books, cook, play with my dog, and exercise during my free time.

Online counseling allows you to receive care from a mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.

Overall rating:
Very amazing at her job very intuitive
I’ve been really enjoying my time with Better Help and I believe I’ve been making some really goo progress with my treatment.
Lynnette is awesome. I was really hesitant to start therapy because it was a new experience for me, but she helped ease me in and really took the time to make me feel comfortable. She is great at listening and provides me with advice and tools to help me through whatever I am going through. 10/10 would definitely recommend!
Lynrtte is great ahe helps me exactly when i need her
I have had a few councelors over the years and never really thought much of them. Lynnette has offered a different experience and has been very quick at catching on with what my struggles and issues are and has guided me through some very tough decisions. I, selfishly don't really want to leave a rave review because I don't wan t her schedule getting jammed up, but she really deserves to be recognized for being an exceptional therapist.
Responsive, knowledgeable, thoughtful, great listener
Lynnette is very easy to talk to. She makes me feel comfortable sharing even when discussing difficult topics. She allows video sessions to flow naturally and I never feel judged when talking to her.
Lynnette is very considerate and always makes sure to understand what my concern is and I feel heard. Sessions always feel comfortable and easy going, and consistent with regard to what we discussed beforehand. Overall I have enjoyed having her as my counselor here.
I had no idea what to expect when entering into counseling, but Lynette has been absolutely wonderful. I keep telling my best friend that therapists are caller “professionals” for a reason, because Lynette can say something back to me in such a way that it just clicks, even if I’ve heard it a hundred times elsewhere. I can’t recommend her enough. She is encouraging and empathetic, but also gives they “professional” perspective that comes from someone who has studied how to understand intricate emotions.
She is just amazing!
Lynnette is a great counselor! She helping me realize my potential in life and it amazing
She’s the best!
Lynette was absolutely great! I was a little skeptical at first but she really did a great job letting me speak and listening to what I had to say without making me feel like I was being rushed or just another number. She understands my problems and offers support and tools to help with personal issues.
I have been working with Lynnette for a few weeks now. I felt comfortable sharing my thoughts right away, and I could sense that she was gauging me in how I express myself and get a feel for my personality over a few interactions so she could best communicate with me in a way that would make me comfortable. I appreciate that she does this, and is true to her bio where she says she uses "an interactive and client centered approach". I only feel positive working forward with her!
