More about Kimberly

  • 9 years' experience
  • Female
  • LMFT

Hi! My name is Kim. I love adventure, animals, reading, church activities and working out. I believe in living life to the fullest!

Working together, my approach is collaborative and judgement free. I believe that ultimately only you can determine what you want and need in your own life. We would work together to determine your therapy goals and what interventions could help you make progress towards those goals. Wherever you're at on your journey, I'm willing to meet you there and support you in reaching your desired destination.

I have a master's degree and am a licensed therapist in the state of Florida. I have been working actively as a therapist for over 9 years in various settings including behavioral health agencies as well as medical and behavioral health hospitals. I have a wide variety of experience, having worked with individuals struggling to overcome a substance use disorder, survivors of childhood trauma, survivors of toxic or narcissistic relationships and individuals experiencing anxiety and depression. I have many years of experience helping my clients with techniques to address chronic or situational anxiety and depression. I also have an interest in helping those struggling with disordered eating, although I do not have a specific certification in this area. If you are struggling to parent a child with behavioral health needs or wanting to learn to set better boundaries with your adult child or family member, I have the desire to assist you in facing those struggles.

I use various techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, solution focused therapy, TBRI and person-centered therapy. I'm trained in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy which focuses on processing and correcting negative cognitions related to traumatic childhood experiences. I believe it can be important to explore both the past and the present to facilitate the greatest understanding of ourselves.

If you have questions, I would love to answer them. I want you to feel comfortable and understood. Congratulations on taking this step to increase your self care!

It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
