More about Catherine

I am a professional counselor licensed by the state of Georgia. I have training in both secular and faith-based counseling, with two master’s degrees, a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling and a Master of Divinity. For over thirty years I have worked with individuals, families and couples in various settings; the last seven years as a counselor in private practice. My approach is empathetic and encouraging, using solution focused, cognitive behavioral, and family systems techniques to help my clients realize their goals.

Counseling is about CHANGE. I help people put into action the changes they want to see in their lives. Each person's vision of change is different---to some, it is learning to make different choices; to others it is coping with feelings; to some it is improving communication in their marriage; to others it is learning to deal with unchangeable past events, such as trauma, grief, infidelity, or abuse.

If you have experienced a difficult life event, are feeling overwhelmed, anxious or depressed, or would just like to talk to someone, call me today. Counseling can help!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space. Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
