He is really awesome! Very open about his own experiences, and never comes off as judgemental. I feel like I've known him for years.

I have had 2 sessions with Carey so far and they have been very helpful. He's very laid back and is helping me get to the root of some of the problems I've been going through. He listens, he's honest and not one sided. I'm looking forward to more sessions with him.

More about Carey

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Master Addictions Counselor, I am passionate and dedicated to helping individuals, families and communities that are struggling to recover from alcohol and other drugs. I also work diligently to assist individuals and families with addressing related issues in social, emotional, occupational, and mental health functioning. I will work with you to move forward in life and achieve your goal of being free of active addiction regardless of the past factors that have negatively impacted your life. I specialize in the treatment of substance use disorders for individuals, families, and groups. As part of my practice, I work closely with special populations which includes mandated and re-entry individuals. I employ a long-term, multi-modal approach that is continually adapted to meet a client's ever-changing needs.

My counseling approach is person-centered. I believe in meeting the individual where they are with respect, sensitivity, and empathy. I incorporate a strength-based approach that also combines cognitive-behavioral counseling. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. This blend of therapy is a type of positive psychotherapy and counseling that focuses more on your internal strengths and resourcefulness, and less on weaknesses, failures, and shortcomings. This focus sets up a positive mindset that helps you build on your best qualities, find your strengths, improve resilience and change your worldview to one that is more positive. A positive attitude, in turn, can help your expectations of yourself and others become more reasonable.

Remember, it takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space. Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
