Hello! My name is Jason Patterson, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor in the state of Georgia. I have over 10 years of experience providing therapeutic services to individuals, families, and couples in need. I have provided therapeutic services in a variety of settings to include: inpatient hospitals, community, outpatient clinics, and intensive residential. I work with clients that are affected by serious and persistent mental illness, anxiety, multicultural , career development, communication, and relationship challenges.

I attended Columbus State University where I earned a Bachelors and Masters Degree. I also attended Troy University where I earned a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

My approach to therapy is client centered: I provided support and guidance to the client so that they can make the the best decisions possible. I believe that all clients/couples are most productive in therapy when they are afforded with dignity, compassion and respect. I firmly believe that clients have the capacity to grow and become better versions of themselves through processing their life experiences and working through life challenges. My approach to therapy also includes assisting clients with identifying that they have the ability to control how they think and behave and that by learning how to make better choices, they can improve their lives.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
