I started working with Erica during a really intense period of my life and I’m so grateful for her support. During our time, I never felt judged but fully supported and sometimes challenged to see and do things differently. She’s kind, direct, and knowledgeable. I felt like I was in really good hands.

Erica is the first therapist I have had that I actually connect with. She listens to my concerns but does not patronize me or tell me what I should do. She offers an array of healing techniques so that we can work through my trauma in new ways, and she supports me through those exercises.

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Illinois. I have been counseling using Relational Cultural Theory which looks at how your background (culture, family, etc.) effects the way you move through the world. You are the expert on your world, but at times it is hard to focus and find the expertise you have in solving your problems, so as your therapist, I am there to act as a guide to help you find the solution you already have inside you. I am holistic in my practice, so I incorporate both Western psychotherapy practices and Eastern holistic healing such as mindfulness, reiki, and crystal work. I have primarily worked with sexual trauma survivors throughout my career, but also those who have depression, anxiety, panic disorder, and other mood disorders. I identify as a Black woman, part of the LGBTQ+ community, and would love to work with other members of those communities as you process those unique issue. I look forward to working with you and guiding you along your journey to a healthier you.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
