She is great

Reviewed April 2023

Lexie had great questions and assignments that really helped me to think better and to catch my own thinking traps but also to be okay with my own feelings. When she was available for online chats she was great. Sometimes hard to book because she was probably booked up and sometimes I would miss a week, but the chats were the only thing available anyway so it was basically the same to just message, which I could do 24/7 and she was always quick to respond. I really am grateful for her help. It was really helpful in an acute difficult time to have someone who I could talk with who was knowledgeable of both therapy and my religious background.

About Me

I am a Clinical Mental Health Counselor, specializing in individual and family therapy for individuals of varying backgrounds. I have a private practice in professional counseling in South Jordan, Utah.

I have extensive experience working with adolescents and families in the community. I received my Masters Degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Utah where I focused her studies on Cognitive Behavioral and Multicultural Counseling. I started her career in mental health as a counselor working in the school system, and has since become passionate about working with adolescents and their families in a private atmosphere. I have experience and spent time volunteering in schools, homeless shelters, and religious/civic organizations. I have had my own private practice in mental health counseling where I have worked with hundreds of individuals, couples, and families to resolve conflict and cope with mental health struggles.

In counseling, I use an integrative approach, pulling from various theories, including cognitive behavioral, rational emotive behavior therapy, and family systems. I use a varying range of therapeutic techniques to create a treatment plan specific for each client. I value the trust and safety of the therapeutic relationship, and creates a counseling environment that is full of compassion, empathy, understanding, and humor.

In addition to individual and family therapy, I have presented to and trained groups in a public setting, on topics such as effective parenting, self-esteem, anger management, marriage, sex education, self-harm, and grief.

Above all, I value my relationships with my friends and family most. I have personally experienced trauma, loss, change, and disappointment in life, and is continually working on my own progress towards peace.
