I am a clinical social worker licensed in Michigan, with over 30 years of experience in counseling, training new therapists, and teaching graduate students in social work practice. I have worked with very diverse clients in counseling , including individuals struggling with identity, relationships issues, life stressors, depression, anxiety, and trauma. In addition, I have over 20 years experience working with LGBTQIA+ individuals and their families. I am committed to helping my clients find their unique and true selves.

I believe that change happens when we feel supported, understood, and valued. My clients would describe me as a good listener, direct, non-judgmental and practical. In my work, I use a variety of approaches that have been proven effective through research, including Cognitive-Behavioral, Solution-Focused, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.

Congratulations on taking the first step in making changes in your life. I look forward to getting to know you so we can work together on a plan for change!

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions. Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.
