Shannon is a wonderful soul, she is kind, patient, and understanding. She explains everything to me in a way where I can understand. With just a couple sessions I felt like she gave me a lot to think about and made me feel hopeful for my future in therapy. She’s the best and I can’t see myself changing therapist any time soon!

I believe counseling is a partnership in which we work together in developing and implementing a plan to reach the clients treatment goals. Each client is unique and different, and I adjust according to the clients needs. I work well with clients who are ready to do the work to heal and grow. The client and I are active throughout the counseling process. I have found that this process is a journey towards healing and thriving in all areas of life. Many of my clients have found themselves stuck in life. I help clients find what is keeping them stuck and develop the skills to overcome these barriers so they might heal and grow. I specialize in preteens/teens issues, self-esteem, identity issues, self-harm, social anxiety, confidence building, rebuilding/healing relationships,  divorce, survivors of abuse, codependency, gifted/highly intelligent children, substance abuse, depression, and couples counseling. I use CBT and Narrative Therapy to explore and correct underlying issues. I find that authenticity and empathy are the two most important things for a counselor to possess. My goal is to provide a safe place for clients to grow and heal, and am always looking for ways to improve my ability to provide that. I have had my own personal struggles that I have overcame, and this is a factor that helps me truly understand the client.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
