More about Mary

  • 7 years' experience
  • Female
  • LCSW

I have been a social worker for more than 9 years and have experience working with people from all different backgrounds who are facing with a variety of life’s challenges. Much of my experience has been working with people who are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, LGBTQ+ issues, substance use, and the challenges of parenting. I embrace the philosophy of meeting people where they are and helping them navigate challenges with a nonjudgmental, honest and direct approach. You can expect a holistic approach to helping you face challenges, learn more about yourself and gain confidence in your ability to navigate the journey.

I can interact with you in whatever manner you are most comfortable. I find it helpful to participate in video sessions so that we can get to know each other better. But I am also available to you via phone and text if that is more comfortable for you. A majority of my availability is in the evenings and on the weekends but I check messages often during each weekday. I understand it can be a little overwhelming to find a counselor you feel a connection with and I would be honored to work with you through this stage of your life.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions. Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Trina is super nice, she listens to me even though I never really keep the conversation linear. She acknowledges my puppy during our session and we have a good time talking. She responds on a timely matter and is always available if I need her.
