Hi, I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the mental health field for the last 38 years. The first part of my career was in in Virginia working as an emergency mental health therapist in a community mental health clinic. I moved to North Carolina 30 years ago. For 16 years I worked as a mental health therapist in an inpatient psychiatric hospital. Then I went to work for the military as a mental health therapist working with the Marines and Navy servicemembers for the last 14 years.
I also had a part time private practice for 23 years where I primarily worked with couples who were working on their relationship. I did not have much opportunity in my full time job to work with couples which is my passion. I was able to meet with couples in the evening to help them resolve their conflicts and develop positive coping skills as a couple.
I am semi-retired and living in Florida now. I love being close to family and the beach.
I love working with people to help them achieve their goals. My style is to help you develop the goals you want to change and give you the tools to achieve that goal. It is my privilege and honor to help those who are seeking help for themselves. I see my self as an integrative therapist who utilizes many tools to help my clients.
I check my messages several times a day seven days a week and will get back to you within 24 hours or less.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.
Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Listens well and easy to talk to.
Peggy has been very supportive and kind in her responses to me, I know she is trying to help me navigate my situation.
I haven’t seen Peggy for long, but in our short time she has been very attentive and has given helpful advice for me to consider in my treatment. I would recommend Peggy to anyone.
Peggy makes me feel comfortable and understood. It’s easy for me to talk through an entire therapy session without having any direction or input, but not with Peggy. She listens and offers helpful feedback. She helps me with worksheets and finding a focus or a direction or each therapy session. Since working with Peggy my therapy goals have become clearer and more manageable.
Peggy was great and always listened and made me feel comfortable in every step :) Thank you Peggy.
I’m really pleased with my experience with Peggy- I feel heard and like I’m in a safe place to speak freely! I look forward to continuing my sessions with her! Thank you Peggy! Highly recommended better help and speaking with Peggy!
I have only recently begun working with Peggy, and she has been a lifesaver. I feel like she cares, and that's not always easy to find.
Honestly, Peggy has been a breath of fresh air. I haven’t felt comfortable talking to a therapist in 30+ years. She definitely has helped me these past few months and I am grateful that she was assigned to me.
I saw good reviews of Peggy Fair and I was not disappointed. So far with my experience from her she has been very cooperative, very professional, empathetic, and very understanding. She's also very patient which I think is a good quality in a therapist.
She is awesome. Helped me in a lot of ways. I was so comfortable talking to her. I love it
Peggy Fair is knowledgeable and responds quickly. She listens. Her responses are wise and helpful.
I chose Peggy because I needed to challenge myself. For most of my life, I have worked with male therapists. Male to male sometimes makes sessions easier. There’s a diff type of bond with same sex, regardless of topic of discussion, each person can relate and as such can create an unintentional, biased foundation. The foundation is critical to everything in life. Weak foundations, creates an unstable structures. I chose Peggy because she’s the opposite of someone I would have chose. And, while I was right.. we don’t typically bond on beer type or dad jokes…. I was also right.. that separation has been my best decision regarding any therapist to date. As a result, we execute clear and efficient discussions
Peggy is wonderful. She is direct, listens to hear, and knows what just to say to help in various situations. Her worksheets and dialogue have been incredibly helpful.
Peggy is very supportive . She's a good listener, compassionate and a timely communicator. I've appreciated your help.
Peggy is very knowledgeable. She is great at asking open ended questions to collect information and listens actively while you are speaking.
Peggy is very helpful. I experience a lot of stress and anxiety revolving around my relationship with my partner, my family as well as my own personal issues. I feel like she genuinely listens and offers great insight. I can count on her to tell me the truth and I never feel like she’s relying on telling me what I want to hear.
I would high recommend Peggy to anyone! She is a great listener and gives valuable feedbacks. I think her approach of defining my goals for therapy perfectly suited me and she was able to help me achieve them within a month.
I feel very comfortable and respected
Peggy is a skilled, kind, attuned therapist. I have been seeing her weekly for several months now, and our sessions very much enhance my life.
I am in the beginning stages of getting to know Peggy, however; she seems genuine and she seems to want to give advice to help in growth and self improvement. She is very prompt for our sessions. She is easy to communicate with and she asks questions that would indicate she cares about people a lot. I have only spoken to her over the phone once, and had one video session, along with messaging back and forth, and I am very apprehensive by nature, but she feels genuine and trustworthy. I highly recommend her for anyone. I am so grateful to have her as a therapist to take the next step in my healing journey.
I’ve really enjoyed working with Peggy. She is empathetic, understanding and so kind. I’m thankful for the time she’s spent listening to me and offering encouragement! Highly recommend working with Peggy.
I am enjoying my sessions with Peggy. She has given me ideas of things to do to handle stress and she seems to be a great listener so far. She is supportive and understanding of my feelings as well as validates them which I feel is important. In my past, I was made to feel inferior, stupid, crazy. So for someone to acknowledge me, is important.
Peggy is very understanding and I love how she offers solutions. She also lets you know when is the best time for you to schedule.
Good listener
Peggy is thoughtful, kind, and helpful. She gives you the space to work through things yourself but is also open to share some ideas and help you reflect. I feel extremely comfortable with her, even compared to other therapists I’ve had for years in person.
Thank you for everything
Peggy Fair is the most nonjudgmental empathetic listener I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. She makes me feel understood, seen, cared for, and respected. I would recommend her to anyone needing a nurturing and supportive force in their life.
I met with Peggy 1x. She was wonderful
good listener. asks good and relevant questions
Peggy is a wonderful therapist who has thoughtful insight and supports you ever step of the way. She listens when I need to talk, gives feedback, and has a big heart. I’m relieved to have Peggy to talk to about things that I am going through and know that I have someone who hears me.
Peggy has been so kind & attentive during our sessions. I've had some questionable experiences with another therapist in the past, i.e., exploiting things we had discussed in private to my parents, falling asleep during sessions, playing games on his phone, taking phone calls during our sessions. Unfortunately, my first therapist turned me off from therapy quite a bit. I ofc had these same concerns when coming to Better help, but Peggy changed all of that for me. She was attentive with my issues, she genuinely listened to the things I had to say & I always felt validated. It was a complete 180 experience for me & I can't thank her enough!
She is a good Listener and responds quickly when I write her. She always helps with my questions or what to do in a situation. I’m getting to know her, but I felt comfortable even on the second meeting.
Peggy is very understanding, listens to what I have to say , and always has good advice fir me to follow
Peggy is very sweet and a wonderful listener. From our very first session, I have felt comfortable and able to confide in her. She gives kind words and great advice and feedback.
I have not met with Peggy yet due to illness, however Peggy has been checking in on me. Which I truly appreciate
Peggy is kind, a great listener, and I feel comfortable talking to her. She has a lot of experience which I feel like gives her a lot of perspective. She poses a lot of good questions and thoughts that make me think about things in ways I haven’t before.
Peggy has been incredibly easy to talk to and really seems to listen and understand.
She’s a good listener and has a lot of good ideas that I try to apply
