I believe in a person’s ability to develop and grow, become autonomous and authentic. I utilize different techniques and approaches to meet my clients’ need in order to help them find success in therapy. Specifically, I utilize a combination of Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Family Dynamics and Person Centered Therapy to create a treatment outline that will best fit my clients’ needs. I have experience working with individuals, couples and families on issues related to addiction, infidelity and trust, self esteem, depression, anxiety, life changes, divorce, identifying goals, grief and loss as well as caregiver stress and elder adult issues and transitions.

I graduated from Centenary University in Hackettstown, NJ with a Master’s of Arts in Clinical Counseling. I also received a Master’s of Science in Addictions Counseling from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ. Through my internships and post graduate work I have been involved with traditional outpatient care as well as higher levels of care such as Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization.

My approach is warm and interactive, I believe in asking thoughtful questions that cause clients to think and look deeper. I also inquire about my clients’ beliefs and background to get a better picture of who they are and what shaped them. It also allows me to be sensitive and respectful of cultural needs and differences.

I respond to messages Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9am-5pm. On the weekends I do not respond to messages or hold sessions. Sessions are booked with me once we have agreed to work together. I do not have an open schedule.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

She listens very thoroughly and always knows exactly what to say to help me see things outside of my anxiety and outside of my overthinking. We do video calls and chats- she reads my journal entries and such . she always responds and pays attention. So glad to have matched with her!

Meghan is wonderful. She is very attentive and catches on quickly, - not only to the issues but also to the potential underlying causes. It's only been a few weeks but I'm impressed with her level of support, as well as her approach to listening and offering practical advice to take on life's challenges.

Reviewed September 2021

She’s great. After just a few conversations, I felt like she grasped the very core of much of what I was describing/expressing- her ability to accurately summarize and conceptualize it was very impressive. I felt truly “seen” and understood. I appreciate that she did not allow me to mentally box myself in and has offered me lots of very helpful insight. I would highly recommend her as a counselor.
