Hello! My name is Rachel, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 20 years of clinical experience. I have a Master of Arts degree in Community Mental Health Counseling from Rollins College and have been licensed in the state of Florida since 2002. My first profession was as a music therapist, so I bring an eclectic approach, recognizing the importance of using creative arts in our healing.

I have spent most of my career helping to support adults with challenges related to relationships/communication, parenting, work stressors, communication, grief/ loss, anxiety and depression. I am directive and solution focused in approach, while being flexible and moving at your pace to support your individualized needs. I operate from a nurturing, person-centered approach, am strength based and use cognitive behavioral techniques in our work together.

I believe the therapeutic relationship is both delicate and sacred. Deciding to go to therapy can sometimes be an overwhelming decision, especially when we are already stressed. We usually need to feel safe in order to allow ourselves to become vulnerable. This feeling of safety is built upon trust, which can take time, as it does in most relationships. Therapy is no different. For me, our therapeutic relationship is at the core of this process. I look forward to walking with you in your journey toward emotional wellness.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

She’s very patient and understanding. She provides excellent exercises to practice and overall just great!

Reviewed November 2021

She is a strong personality, which I like a lot. She listens to what I have to say but also holds me accountable & challenges me a bit. Great for someone that needs that kind of push.

Reviewed November 2021

We have only had 3 sessions so far but I feel that she is a fantastic listener, knows when to ask questions and when to let me ramble, and is kind and easy to talk to, I have found it very easy to open up to her (which is not normal for me). She has helped me curate plans in my life that I am already seeing immediate changes because of and is certainly playing a part in helping me through a very difficult time.
