Having Alicia as my therapist for just over a year has been the most transformational decision I've ever made. She holds the mirror up to you while showing you how to navigate your specific issues while teaching you the tools to do the work. I believe she represents the best parts of the mental health world/profession and she is truly a blessing to humankind for the excellent work she does with people.

Hello there! My name is Alicia Johnson, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in South Carolina. I graduated from CSU in 2008 with my BS in Psychology and from Webster University in 2013 with my MA in Counseling, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Counseling. I've been in private practice since, with a couple of years sabbatical here and there because I am also a mom to three kids. My license is based in South Carolina as I grew up in the Summerville/Charleston area; however, now I live with my kids and spouse (and lots of chickens!) in Brevard, NC, where you'll frequently find us on a camping excursion in our VW bus. I am a very client centered, process orientated, relational, meet you where you are kind of therapist and I hope that I can walk with you as you work to close the discrepancy between the life you want to live and the life you are currently living (while we look at how you got here!). I utilize many interventions to do this and pull from lots of modalities and theory (I love a good "brain hack" or tool), but mainly I hope to be understanding, compassionate, and curious about you.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

I’ve been with Alicia since January & have seen her weekly since. I cannot imagine where I’d be if it weren’t for her professional guidance & expertise. She is the most relatable human and meets you exactly where you are, how you are. If you are in a place where enough is enough, you’re hurting and wanting to heal..Alicia is the best therapist one could ever ask for to walk alongside you and hold the mirror up to give you the tools to being well. I’m eternally grateful for her & her work, it has truly been life altering assistance and I’m so grateful she is around for the betterment of people as a whole, to be whole.

She listens and understands my problems and has very sound amazing advice. I’ve already seen a huge difference in 2 sessions and so have others around me. 10/10 recommend her to anyone.

She is the best human ever, she understands and relates to me and gives me great thing to do or look up to help with what I’m going through, she feels more like a friend I’ve known forever with an unbiased professional outlook on things than an actual therapist. She is amazing at her job and she cares and she really wants to help. I’d recommend her to anyone!

I’ve only been actively in therapy for about a month now, but I can’t express how helpful Alicia has been to me and my mental, physical and overall health in such a short period of time. She listens to every word and has a genuine, caring heart in her profession to help others. The viewpoints and information she offers to my specific concerns and what I am working on has certainly allowed me to view myself in a totally different light and is carving out a pathway to walk towards the person I want to be. You really couldn’t ask for a better therapist to walk alongside you to help you exactly where you are.
