Clark is helpful and responsive to my needs. Sometimes he just listens to me rant so I can get things sorted in my head. He also is flexible in his approach if that is what is needed.

More about Clark

My name is Clark Hammond, and I am a Marriage & Family Therapist (MFT) licensed in the state of Utah. I earned a master’s degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from Brigham Young University, and a non-clinical doctorate degree from Oregon State University (Human Development & Family Studies, with an emphasis on Family Enterprise).

I have been fortunate over my 20+ year career to work with hundreds of clients in a variety of settings. My MFT background helps me better understand the larger context when working with individuals. From private practice, residential treatment, young adult transition programs, to wilderness therapy, I have witnessed countless victories that come from rising above challenges and experiencing the growth and fulfillment we all hope for. I have also taught for nearly 8 years as a core faculty member in a graduate program training Clinicial Mental Health Counselors.

I continue in my private work, but I want to do more. In today’s world, technology provides meaningful opportunities to access a variety of services – more important now than ever before.

I am very client-centered in my approach, and see therapy as a truly collaborative process. In addition to the clinical approaches listed below, I glean from the fields of Positive Psychology and systems theory in this work. As “fellow travelers” along this journey of life, we all need support along the way. It’s an honor for me to share the road.

It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. Clark is a great listener and Therapist. His ideas for moving forward and dealing with life challenges are really helpful and his attitude towards the tough situations is empathetic and kind. A great guy and certainly someone who you can trust. He is very professional and observes the obvious client-patient confidentiality. I wish he could take on one of my family members as he has a great way with people. A great asset to the Better Help team.

He's amazing!

Reviewed January 2022

Clark is helpful with giving me prompts and having a dialogue. It feels like I am able to lead the conversation and the direction of the session, but he redirects as necessary. His voice is calming and his words are validating.

Reviewed January 2022

Clark has been amazing. He has a very understanding and positive attitude without being scripted. I feel very much at ease talking to him and he seems invested in trying to find solutions for and with me. I love that he tries to find supporting material to send in between sessions or sometimes just checks in without feeling obligated to write back, nor does he give you the impression that he is keen to end the session. I feel confident that he will be able to help me develop more self-esteem and decide what I want to do next in my life.

Reviewed January 2022

Highly recommend Clark as a therapist. He has an individual approach and tunes the therapy to his client's needs. I've experienced an improvement in the issues which we were discussing already after a few sessions. Clark listens attentively to the client and shares his thoughts in a smooth manner, doesn't make you feel any pressure.
