More about Danelle

  • 5 years' experience
  • Female
  • LCSW

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), a Licensed School Social Worker (LSSW), and a Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor (CADC) in the state of North Carolina. For the past 25 years, I have been providing supportive social work services for youth and families in a public school setting. Additionally, I have been offering part-time substance abuse services for 22 years and mental health clinical services for 7 years. My main goal is to assist individuals in overcoming obstacles and reaching their full potential.

Throughout my career, I have worked with diverse age groups and special populations, gaining valuable experience in addressing various mental health conditions such as substance abuse, depression, anxiety, addiction, anger management issues, grief/loss, trauma, and relationship conflicts, among others. In my therapeutic approach, I adopt a Person-Centered perspective. I firmly believe in focusing on an individual's abilities, rather than their condition, disability, or limitations. By tailoring treatment to their specific needs and circumstances, I aim to help them achieve their personal aspirations. However, depending on the individual's requirements, treatment goals, and desired outcomes, I may employ different therapeutic interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.

She is very understanding and attentive. I feel like she listens to me and helps me focus on the things I want to work on.

I feel like Danelle is a perfect fit for my goals! I think it's not too often that you meet a therapist that can help with both substance abuse and things like reading social cues. It's very nice that I could connect with her through BetterHelp even though she's further away than I would be able to travel to see her in "real life." I was skeptical about this platform at first, but I'm so happy that I've met a therapist who is a really good fit for me and who I can see on a weekly basis!

My past experience with therapy made it difficult to seek help. That has changed once I matched with Danelle. Danielle is very attentive, non-judgemental understanding and compassionate about her work. I felt very empowered after our first session to focus on healing. I feel safe disclosing and expressing myself which I've hesitated too in the past. She has helped me through some dark moments! Hands down I would recommend her to anyone! Truly a gem :)
