More about Kim

Hi, My name is Kim Dunlap, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 8 years of experience in the helping profession. I have served diverse populations with a wide range of concerns including homelessness, medical affliction, post-partum, terminal illness, grief/loss, depression, suicidal ideation, anxiety, relationship issues and adjustment issues.

I believe that a compassionate heart could lift a cloudy day; therefore, this is the approach that guides my therapeutic journey. Life can be very complex; dealing with stressors within and/or around you can be overwhelming and difficult to do alone. My goal is to help and support you through your challenges by being warm, understanding, receptive and present.

I recognize that therapy does not have a clean-cut solution for everything, which is why it is important for me to meet with you on a holistic level to better understand your needs. When one area of your life is troubled everything else is affected. As your therapist, I will focus on your biological, psychological, social, and spiritual needs. Thank you for taking a big step to seek for support. I hope that I could be of value to you as you are to me through this journey.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space. Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
